[...]be warned that MoneySavers have reported major delays and problems opening Barclays Isas for the past two years.
However, the bank claims it has improved service so savers will not encounter similar problems this time.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Can't transfer in, otherwise would've be ideal. Suffered zero problems last year, would have been nice if they gave a tranfer-in option atleast for existing Barclays ISA subscribers.0

Nothing a high street bank is gonna offer by way of investment will be any good - look for a business opportunity if you wanna make money.0

Actually, it does allow transfers in, if you haven't used more than half this years allowance. The Golden Isa terms and conditions, third paragraph, last two sentences state:
"Transfers of funds currently held in another ISA either with us or another ISA manager are not allowed into the Golden ISA unless forming part of your annual subscription allowance. This condition replaces condition 2.3 of the General ISA Terms and Condtions."
So if you have £1800 or less in an existing ISA for the current tax year, you can transfer that into the Golden ISA.0 -

But only by closing your current ISA and opening a new one.0 -

Which is saying (effectively) you can close an existing ISA and open this new one with an opening balance of upto 3,600 - it can be 3600 providing you have not used any of this years allowance.. It would probably be quicker for you to close an existing ISA and transfer the funds yourself rather than go through an y funds transfer procedure.0 -
I have been trying to access the Barclays Golden ISA link on this page for the last few days without success.
Have called the Barclays online help desk three times this morning for assistance in opening up on online ISA and was cut off each time!!
I am a Barclays online current account holder, so I'm less than impressed with this experience.
Has anyone been able to open an online Barclays Golden ISA in the last days or so?0 -
Yes, I did open one last week with no problem. However I did find out that I phoned the help desk to query why I do not seem to be able to register my husband's account online, I was cut off.0
