I recently bagged a cracking deal with phones4u using mutualpoints. Sadly the phone I bought is currently showing as "out of stock" but I thought I'd share the knowledge with everyone anyway as you can bag a hefty cashback on ANY phone, but as it is a flat rate it obviously works out proportionally more on the cheaper phones. :D

You might have to act quick as mutualpoints may cotton-on and cut the cashback offered but here's how it worked for me:

Mutualpoints offer 2,400 points (£16) when you buy a phone from phones4u. I thought this seemed overly-generous so I emailed them and asked whether this included all PAYG phones and they said "YES". I went ahead and bought a Sagem MY X-4 on Vodafone for £19.95 (not a bad "no-frills" phone):
http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_payg_details.asp?ItemKey=142761
http://www.gsmarena.com/sagem_my_x_4-reviews-860.php (REVIEWS)

I then checked my mutualpoints account to see I had "only" been allocated 1,313 points (still very generous) so I emailed them and they agreed to honour the full 2,400 points if I emailed them again after the usual 30 days when the points are awarded (having previously been shown as pending). I did so, and they manually added the extra points straight away.:j

The cherry on top is that I had an old Moto C350 which Phones4u offered me £10 to trade-in, so I have posted it off (Freepost) and I'm waiting to receive my £10 cheque - which means I'll have gained by six quid, and I've got a new phone to replace my old Moto (whose battery was flagging and wouldn't have lasted much longer _pale_ ).

The last time I looked, the mutualpoints site was still showing 2,400 points for phones4u but if lots of people start doing it, they may be less willing to honour what I assume to be a mistake on their part (although as I've already said, the 1,313 points that are automatically awarded is still quite generous)

Nope, the link to the phones4u site still works, but as I said in my original post, the particular model is currently "out of stock".

If you click on the "buy later" button you can register for updates :D :
The Sagem MY X-4 will be in stock in the near future. to be alerted by e-mail when this item is available, simply fill out the following details .....

Incidently, the phones4u spec states that the Sagem my x-4 does not have "mobile internet" but I can confirm that it DOES in fact feature GPRS internet access which is good for making the most of the large hi-res TFT colour screen.

Sorry, I don't understand what problem you're having, but if you cannot get my link to work, try going directly to the phones4u site and searching for Sagem handsets in the PAYG section. ;)

    UPDATE:

The Sagem MY X-4 looks to be no longer available at Phones4u but they do have a Nokia 1100 on Virgin for £24.95 (making it only £8.95 after you take into account your mutualpoints cashback) ;)

ALSO, before you trade in an old handset with Phones4u (or anyone else) check out this thread to make sure you can't get more for it from Envirofone / Mopay:

(I lost out to the tune of £6.89 before I was aware of the Envirofone service)
