Free top salon haircut with Prima magazine

What's it all about?

This is a cracking offer - Prima are offering a free salon haircut for every reader in their March edition, Prima Hair 2006 supplement. As cut and blow dry's normally cost £30-40 this is a fab deal. The offer is run by a company called The Hair Group on behalf of Prima (and other magazines) who administer the offer and use local independent salons.

What do I need to do?

Go to page 5 of the supplement, fill in the coupon with your details and send to The hair Group/prima, Unit F Penfold Trading Works, Imperial Way, Watford, Herts WD24 4YY. You can find out if there is a salon near you by visting www.hairgroup.co.uk They won't tell you exactly which salon it is as it's top secret info! only if there is one in your postcode.

Once the hairgroup have received your coupon they will forward it on to your nearest salon who will then contact you within 60 days to book and appointment for you.

Any snags?

The offer includes a free cut and blow dry, anything in addition will be charged at the salons normal rates.
No more than one Hair Group voucher can be used in any 11 month period.
Only those over 18 years old can use the voucher.
The salon has the right to choose the level of technician and the day of the week.
Once allocated a salon, the voucher is valid for 3 months.

Update Note 22 Feb 1pm: It looks like the hairgroup website listed below is struggling with the volume of people checking it - it may be worth trying later

Back to the original post...

If you buy the March edition of Prima magazine it comes with Prima hair suppliment. In this suppliment is an offer for a free haircut and blow-dry at a top salon near you. As this usually costs anywhere from around £30 upwards this is an unbeatable offer for the outlay of £2.30.

There is a coupon to fill out and send off (by 30 April 2006) but before you do you can find out if there is a participating salon near you by visiting www.hairgroup.co.uk or calling 0844 88 44 000 (or alternative). Once the Hair Group have received the coupon you should be contacted by your local salon within 60 days to make your appointment.

I apologise if this is duplicating someone else's thread. I have searched the site but couldn't find any reference to this offer.

Enjoy!

I used this promo in another magazine last year. The haircut was ok (how hard is a shoulder length bob anyway?) but the salon was awful.
No-one spoke to me unless it was absolutely necessary, the staff were ignorant & more interested in doing their own hair than looking after customers and the owner was the sort of bloke I'd cross the street to avoid. The stylist doing my hair was doing his straight afterwards (think a cross between Peter Stringfellow & Billy Mack from Love Actually) & they couldn't get me out of the chair quick enough. He didn't quite stand behind me drumming his fingers but you get the picture.
I hope your experience is better than mine was, but I would rather pay than go through that again.
  • Thanks I will get a copy of Prima tomorrow and one for my daughter too!

I think maybe your particular salon may have been a bad egg as people I know who have done this particular promotion in the past have been very pleased and the salons participating usually do it with a view to repeat business. It's bound to happen. I'm just sorry it happened to you. The salon where I go to regularly actually participates in this promotion. They are a five star salon and wouldn't dream of treating a client that way - promo or no promo.

    It's definately worth a try.
  • Thanks for this. I took up a similar offer last year and got a fantastic haircut by a Japanese girl (which would have been about £40) at the salon on Wigmore St in London. She was excellent and I'm definitely going again.
