Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0

Do you want to invest or save?
You say invest but then you say no long term investments. Investments need time to cover periods when they go down as well as up. If you sont want that then you should save the money instead. All modern investments are easy access (although a few legacy DIY/direct purchase schemes still exist that tie your money up).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
By which is meant you want to stick to bank or b society accounts.
Look at the Regular Savings thread here,
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=608697
the first page and the latest posts, especially the Principality which allows up to £500 per month.
Or you might want to invest (Dunston would say save) in a tax free ISA.0 -

Also be aware that Principality may communicate with you in Welsh!Note that the rate on the Principality one has now fallen to 4%, so Halifax's Regular Saver at 5%, which also lets you put in up to £500 per month, is a better account.

Halifax Regular saver? fixed 5% for a year
Yep, 5% fixed rate, pay in £25-£500 per month by standing order. No missed payments (although you can change the amount you pay in each month as often as you like, as long as it's not less than £25 or more than £500). Also, no withdrawals until the year is finished.
