I know, I know, how long is a piece of string!
What do people on here think though? How long do you think we will have low interest rates? Months? Years?

My guess is at least as long as the downturn... and I can't see that finishing until the middle of next year.0

Um random guess, i'd say the rates will rise gradually around the middle of next year.Squish0

I agree with the above two suggestions but would add that they may well rise very quickly when it starts. You can also be sure that the banks will pass on any increases in full at the drop of a hat.0

I think in about 12 months time. The following two budgets & the impending election will definately take effect. And if we are honest, they can't really go much lower...so that leaves them only one route to go.0

It's anyones guess!.Who would have thought a few months ago that the BOE rate would now be 1%.I bet if you put money on it, you would be a very rich person!.So moral of the story is -enjoy low rates while they are here cos they will probably go up just as fast as they came down...Neil0

They will have to, in order to try and repair the damage they are sustaining with losing money.
It's a great question, but so many things can happen in a year, it could be anyones guess!0
