I am quite embarrassed to admit that I fell for the acaiburn online scam.
I had heard so much about acai berries (from Oprah Winfrey etc) and their weight loss benefits I decided to try the free trial on acaiburn.com. All I had to pay was the $4 shipping, I would be charged $24 after the 14 day trial. I received the pills, which weren't even acaiburn but wuyi burn. I then noticed I had been charged the full amount 2 days after I had been on the website. I tried to phone the company, and surprise surprise the phone number didnt work. I phoned my bank (BOS) who cancelled my debit card and launched a fraud investigation. Was told chance of a refund was slim to none. Today I received a call from the fraud dept. who said they will refund me the amount charged :j They are sending me a declaration I have to sign as I have heard that the company can still take money from your account even with a cancelled card, the declaration should stop this. I just wanted to warn other people about this site and applaud BOS on their action :T

I'm another person who's been scammed and it really does hurt.

People need to be warned about this - a) it's fraudulent from the moment you enter your card details and confirm payment of $4.95 for shipping, only to find that they then take and extra $20 afterwards which is stated as international shipping in their website, but you have to go hunting for it in tiny print, in a drop-down section which may not work as I went back and checked.

Then, when you do cancel according to their terms, send the item back by tracking etc, they still take the money out plus extras such as membership and "web access".

The more people know about this whole scam the better.

Thank you for posting this - I'll go back to my bank and send them the whole details plus ask for a declaration form too.

I feel quite sick about it all because I believed I had cancelled correctly and well in the timeframe plus taken all the right actions, but didn't realise that they've not only taken the money (now lost over £80 in total), it put my account well over the limit and I've got bank charges.

I hope someone takes the company to the cleaners and shuts them down.

Hi I received my AcaiBurn tablets today (yes I stupidly fell for the scam) Im now really worried they are going to keep taking money from my account. I have opened the tub so dont think Ill be able to return them but will i still be able to cancel any further payments being made on my card?

If you are a idiot like my wife then you need to make sure that you cancel all 3 as its bundled as 1

As when you signup its part of 3 services. I called MBNA (0800 7833944) they then phoned up the 3 companies and i got a full
refund. also notice on the acaiburn website it says u get it for $4.95 but then charge you $24.95

Thank you for this thread. I canceled my subscription via their online facility on 17/03/09 and have not received any further orders. When I cancelled the subscription I asked if I needed to do anything further and was advised that I didn't and that the WuYi membership was cancelled. I have now cancelled the 'membership' and 'webaccess' charges via the number provided above but was advised that I would not been able to get a refund for past months. A lesson learnt!!

Here's my dialogue from acaiburn (a dot com website) - I went to contact us and went to the live chat facility to cancel whatever it was I had agreed or not agreed to!!! I then had to phone the two numbers to cancel the web entry (whatever I was getting for my money) and the mebership monthly fee - all three issued me with cancellation numbers. If I send my bottle of unused pills back i will get the £38 refunded to my account - as for the rest they are non refundable - a big con that should be expolited to the world!!

My friend who fooled by Acaiburn on internet (had received WuYiBurn pills) finally was able to cancel Comprehensive weight loss fees,Insider fees & Transaction fees.Make sure to get your cancelation numbers for reference.For Transaction fees,the agant gave my friend his ID number and his name.she could get hold on US numbers but UK Insider contact number worked too!!!!!....................

Does anyone know if she needs to take another action to make sure she's got ride of it? she's already closed her credit card account as CAB advised her to do so to stop the fees.

I too fell for this, received first bottle and then another 4 bottles and a £48 charge on my card.

I have returned them but no refund yet.

Can someone please tell me how to contact them via phone or online?

you need to call either UK or US acaiburn company & contact numbers are on their website.Make sure ask for your cancelation Reference numbers even if the agant gives you name & ID number,write it down for future.

Then you need to write a letter to your credit card company to inactivate or close the account,which closing is better,the CAB advisor would advise you to do so.

Write a letter to Consumer Direct and tell them about acaiburn and the reason you want to stop them charging you.

Go to : Trade Standard website then to the link for credit cards & online purchase.
take their telefone numbers.Call them ASAP.The line has a long queue but they are so helpful.you might need make different calls because some of them will guide you to wrong directions.

it's wise to make a photocopy of every evidence you have from Acaiburn,such as emails,their address from the parcel you had received from them even if it's a UK address,any dispatch or paper inside the parcel,explaine about the pills & if you returned it and any phone call you made or responses received.

Believe me,they will investigate & hopefully get your refund.
