I expect that too was the UK Government's fault!

Surely if there was ever a time to take your money out, it's just passed.

Dont be silly. It was Robert Peston's fault ;)

And it was only last week that I received a letter from them stating I was no longer covered by the FSA but rather the Irish Compensation Scheme. No doubt the Leprechauns will be the next to underwrite my deposit.

It seems that the reason for this was not only the share price collapse, but also a run on deposits. I expect that was money coming home to Britain!

I expect that we'll see a lot more of this in both Ireland and Britain.

You could be edging to the truth. I may have been a conspiracy between RP AND the Government ... perhaps even involving the CIA.
    Gotta be a possibility!

My first thoughts are to keep my cash in as I have a 2 year bond earning 7%. I am thinking as it has been taken over that my cash is fairly safe, does anyone have other opinions?

If I had a Post Office bank account I'd be forming a queue, different name of course but same economy.

Deposits with Anglo Irish are even safer now than they were yesterday, and they were safe yesterday

Tell that to the iceland savers in Guernsey. Also to the County councils (us) who invested in the Icelandic bubble.
