Talk Talk Upsides/Downsides

I am tempted to move from BT To Talk Talk My Talk £16.99 per month.
If after my 18 month contract I decide I would like to move back to BT,
what would the cost be?
Also, would I be able to keep my Yahoo email address for sending mail?
Anything else I should consider before I decide?
I know there are many mixed feelings about Talk Talk on these forums.
I would go for o2 but my exchange is not yet LLU for O2.
How can I find out when it might be?
Many Thanks.

there would not be any charge if you move back to bt after the 18 month period with talktalk
you can keep your yahoo email account becuase it is not tied to a pop3 mail server which talktalk.net email is
the talktalk customer services is very hit or miss - they have a forum which some people use where they get better help than the nuymbnuts on the phone.0 -
Thank you for reply.
I thought I might need to pay BT if I wanted to go back to them.
Still undecided whether to move or not.0 -
Would I still be able to use 18185 if I moved my phone and broadband over to Talk Talk.0

Dont do the move attic and in relation about 18185 the answer is "NO!". It might work today but there is no guarantee it will work tomorrow and if it stop working tomorrow you cant cancel without than paying £70 cancellation fee. If I remember I will try on my dad's talktalk line before it get transfer to Sky. (I would of move it to BT but my dad want to have everything as one bill, hence everything going to Sky.) The goldern rule is keep the landline with BT, that way you can choose who your broadband provider is and telephone call provider is.0

Yes thank you.
I am thinking twice. More bad reports than good.
I have a couple of friends who are with talk talk and have no problems at all.
I have had no problems at all with BT.
Only the cost that is making me want to move.0 -
I moved from BT toTT LLU two weeks ago on one of our two BT lines. We have broadband on the other line with Madasafish.
So far, so good. The voice line quality is good, the BB is ADSL2+ and is faster than than MAAF (1.6 vs 3.1 Mb/s).
Haven't needed customer services yet - I hope I don't!
Not sure what the cheapest way is to call Uk and mobiles from TT - we can use the other line, but it's primarily for a home business. No need to tell BT that.......0 -
iceburn - I use 18185 from an unbundled (LLU) TalkTalk line, but I use their 0808 (freephone) access number.
Also, if you move your line rental to them and go LLU to get the included broadband, you'd have to pay to return to BT because the line will have to be returned to BT "control", and I think that costs £124.99.
I've been getting somewhere around 4.5-4.75 Mbps on my line, but I had to reboot my router recently, so it's still settling after that.0 -
it can be return for free under the return to donour scheme but just a new 12 month contract thingy0

Don't forget to factor in Talk Talk's friends & family offer at the mo- so for the first year you'd only be paying the £10.50 line rental- not the £6.50 for broadband.
