Hi,

How do you know if the house you are looking at/interested in is a repo?

    piece of paper stuck in window. electric switched off. taps tapped up, do not use notices on taps.basins/bath/bog etc.

    Ask the EA.

    Oh and no one living there

    Oh and dont forget the grass overgrown!!!!

    Repo companies get gardeners in regularly and upon repo they cut the grass. Most of the time anyway.

    Normally, there is no electricity and water in repossessed property, and also you can see the seal on the closetool and water pipe, which mentiones @DON'T USE@.

    The notice is to do with chattels and their removal I think...

    Not usually they don't!

    The mortgagee in posession is most keen to recover the money already lent on the property, not spend more money (well the debtor's rreally, but they probably realise the house will be sold for less than what is already owed) keeping the garden tidy.

    Yep.

    It's to advise the owners how long they have to get their belongs out.

    The photo on Rightmove for the house I'm going for had a notice in the front window which had disappeared by the time we went to look at the place.

    We found a report from the company managing the house showing that the regular inspection had taken place to check the place for squatters and the like.
