Ungrateful Tenants or inconsiderate LL?

Options
When I did an inspection in November a 2 bed house or mine was looking very tired. I had not decorated it since I bought it 5 years ago.
I had a discussion with the tenants and said I would like to decorate the whole house, install a new kitchen and bathroom and they could chose the colour schemes.
To save them the hassle of all this work I arranged another property for them to stay in free of charge.
It has taken alot of meetings to agree for them to move out.
I dont understand all the fuss they have created saying that they were happy with the property the way it was.
However the decorating is well under way now but there is a complication.
The LA I use has sent some people round to view and they are prepared to pay more rent once the work is complete.
So what do I do approach the tenants and explain that someone is prepared to pay more or just leave the rent at the same price?

That was probably the reason why the tenants wanted the place to stay the same. Better decor = higher rent.

I know you're just trolling with this.

Or you've taken leave of your senses.

If they were happy with the house as it was why go to all the expense of making them move? why not wait until they decided to move on of their own accord?

Inconsiderate landlord i would say - put yourself in their position, if it were me i would be pretty annoyed to be honest. They have been moved out of their home, where they were happy, the letting agent shouldnt have even been showing people around unless this is what you had planned, and now they are told to pay more or not return?

You gave them free rent in another property while the work was being done. So why did you show anyone else around? Presumeably these tenants have an AST, so why are you considering new occupants?

No, you approach your doctor and explain the stress of your property 'empire' crashing, and the docks likely to start laying people off, is leading you to console yourself by posting complete and utter garbage on a forum. He may be able to prescribe something.

essentially... you have conned the tenants who were perfectly happy...

So you enter under false pretences...

Pickles:: i'll be a nice guy and update you house for you... even though you like it....i arranged for somewhere else for you (as its my duty.. as you paying me rent .

Btw... when you get back i sneakily had someone assess it for its rental value and will now push the rent rise on you for something you did nt want in the first place. Oh you cant pay you say? Oh well cya later sorry about all the upheaval of moving your things twice and all.. im just an inconsiderate amateur cowboi.

    End being pickles.

Thats what you doing.... Is despicable... not incosiderate.. but plain nasty and greedy. You start post reckoning you are a saint.. but then are going to force a rent rise on thm for something they didnt ask for.. and if they dont like it make them move yet another time!

Pickles. Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame.

I am very, VERY disappointed in you. I can't believe you've treated other human beings like this. SHAME ON YOU.

You've been entirely wrong from the start. Entirely, you, it's all you. You're a bad, bad person.

Shame on you. Really, shame. Deep, deep shame.

    :(
