Removing Biro mark from Laptop!

I have managed today, to mark my white Macbook across the palmrest accidently with a biro pen and I cannot get the mark off using a damp cloth. Extremely annoying to look at.

Has anyone got any suggestions on what I could use to remove the 2 inch mark without damaging the finish.

    A VERY small amount of WD40 on a cloth (not sprayed onto the MacBook!) will remove a biro mark; I'm not sure how it will affect the finish though, so use at your own risk!

    If you can lay your hands on some Isopropanol (Isopropyl Alcohol) that may shift it. CD cleaning fluids are generally Isopropanol.

    Otherwise, if it's already soaked in, you may need to use metal polish to polish away the stained layer of plastic/paint. Unfortunately if the finish is high gloss it will never quite look the same, but it shouldn't be too noticeable.

    Mix a spoonfull of washing liquid with a spoonfull of methylated spirit and rub lightly on with a paper towel.

    Wipe off with a dab of warm water on another paper towel.

    removes everything, and doesn't really damage the plastic

    or is it Cif now... sod it.. i still call it Jif, like i still call them Opal Fruits!!

    Just a note. Try your chosen methed on the underside of the laptop, on the battery cover so it can esily be replaced. So if it dulls the plastic then it's not as big of a deal.

    i had a pen leak in my pocket onto my mobile was gutted but used some of the alcohol hand spray it tuch it all off with no damage to plastic very easily so the Isopropyl Alcohol suggestion i would go with.

    Brasso is a good cleaner of scratches, or even T-Cut.

    It's finer than Cif/Jiff, but will still take the high polish off so try first where it won't be seen.
    Another tip for "indelible" marker, try some Brake/Clutch cleaner, but use carefully and responsibly.
    Move along, nothing to see.
