Egg reduces cashback offers on Egg Money

I see a few posts mentioning this, thought I'd make a thread.
It appears that Egg have reduced the cashback offers for Apple and Currys from 10% to 5%.
It is disappointing to see these reductions, though I'm not surprised. The 10% was quite substantial in addition to the standard 1%. The 1% is guaranteed until 2007, I hope this will increase to 2% during special periods such as last December.
Egg should have at least alerted us, I would have got a few more orders in if I had known.

Yeah I was just about to mention WH Smiths - they didn't reduce that one, they just totally removed it!
Quidco still do 7% though

I got my order of a mac mini in before xmas, and saved 51 quid! I think we will see the 10% again at some point as "special offers"0

The cashback offers are no better than the standard egg card. In December, the egg money site said 'come back soon to see many more outstanding offers'. I didn't realise that cutting cashback in half was an outstanding offer. I would rather it had been more honest and said 'current outstanding cashback offers only run until 31st Decemeber - get your orders in quick.' I suppose its still instant cash back.
Thumbs down to egg on this one. And i'm a big fan of theirs! At least we've still got the 1%.

Got an email the other day from Egg advertising Egg Money (they don't seem to realise that I already have the card).This months offers include:
5% cash back at Apple – including iPods!
5% cash back at iTunes
10% cash back at Virgin Wines
5% cash back at Currys
5% cash back at CDWow
The reduced rates are mentioned in this email. Perhaps "this month's offers" means that they review the offers every month? Who wants to guess what the rates will be next month? 2% ?

I've just noticed that Egg have removed the 5% cashback at CDWOW on the Egg Money cashback page. It's still on the Egg Green cashback page though.
I reckon in a few months time most of the cashback offers will either be gone or reduced to an even lower rate 0
