£9 room sale at Travelodge: UK wide stays from Jan to May

Options
What's the deal?

Last week budget hotel chain Travelodge started two sales, first for £19 then a £9 Winter room sale, offering 150,000 'saver rooms' in all its UK hotels at £9 per night, for stays booked 21 days in advance from 30 Jan to 4 May.

This week it has launched even more rooms and extended the booking period.

Even popular places such as London, Cardiff, Manchester and the coast have availability, so if you fancy a quick break away in the UK, it's certainly worth a gander.

What are Travelodge rooms like?

They're clean, functional and do the job. This is about the thirteenth travelodge deal that MoneySavers have jammed in and there's usually extremely good feedback from those who've taken part, though there are some concerns it has a deliberate 'overbooking' policy, but most MoneySavers don't report problems.

Is this any good?

While you can generally find a £19 room somewhere, (though not usually where you want to stay) the £9 room sales are less common so it's worth trying to grab one while you can.

Travelodge tends to release the £9 rooms in tranches and then leave them there until it sells out. The point of highlighting this sale is it's just released a massive batch with widespread availability.
What you need to do

£9 rooms are on sale right now so use Travelodge's room search to find a hotel and date available. Be aware, these rooms must be paid for in advance, are non-refundable and you must book at least 21 days before arrival.

If you're lucky enough to nab a room in a popular location (i.e. cities or picturesque areas), please post the details below so other MoneySavers can benefit too.

Bag extra cashback

If you use cashback websites you can even get cashback on these; see the Top Cashback Sites guide.

Bag some cheap days out to go with your bargain room

If you're thinking of taking the family away or doing some site seeing, have a look at the Pay Less For Going Out article for tips and tricks on how to slash the cost of days out, which includes cut price theme park tickets and 2for1 attractions. Plus read the constantly updated Cheap Days Out note for all the very latest MoneySaving promotions.

We usually visit family in the Manchester area over Easter taking our touring caravan, and have just booked into Travel Lodge for Easter week at a lower rate than the caravan site we usually use and less than half the distance away.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
  • Did anyone get a room in the December offer in Dartford they can't make? I missed the offer & would love to swap/buy a December room if anyone has one.

    Thanks!

I have already booked 4 rooms for my hen weekend at £75 per room per night for Friday and Saturday in the dates that are now available for only £39 for the Friday (Saturday still £75) - would I be able to cancel my original booking and then rebook at the £39 for the Friday and £75 for the Saturday?

    Thanks
  • Can anyone let me know if they have actually managed to book a room for £9pn? I went onto the site as soon as the sale started and it has declined three of my credit cards. I checked with my banks to check if there was something wrong with my cards, but all is fine. Also spoken with travelodge and they have informed me that this is because a large amount of people are trying to book at the same time. I often use the travelodge when there are £19 deals and I find their service very helpful. Hopefully I can get a room soon. Good luck.

I believe that you can change your rooms if they are 'flexible rooms'. You can't change rooms if you have managed to get a saver deal and you can't get your money back on them either. Make sure you find out that you can get a refund in the terms and cons before you cancel. Don't cancel your rooms first, try book a saver deal first, then cancel. It would be very disappointing for you if you lost all rooms. Hope that makes sence. Good luck.

I would be very careful ever booking with this company again, or for that matter recommending it!
We were fortunate enough(or so we thought) to book 2 for £9 at a Heathrow travelodge. We have paid in advance for the breakfast, which is non refundable and checked all its criteria. Nothing untoward.........................until I decided to call the Hotel and ask times of breakfasts as we would have to leave at 7.30am. This is mentioned nowhere on their website. When you attemp to telephone,....."we dont know, its up to the managers discretion" is the answer. Five E Mails later and pre written 'not applicable' answers, two letters later, not even one reply I have decided to give up. Customer Service? What customer Service!!!
  • This is a fab offer, though the £9 rooms for london area tend to be on a sunday, the odd one during the week ,but,hey,£9 sunday /£59 mon.......still a cheap late w/e and from Norwich ( am sure others do same ) if u pre book train tickets ,saver fares are £6 e/w.......we are off to covent garden in April £19 family room,£24 train 4 me + 2 children.......means we can get top price theatre tickets + still have a bargain..........wish I'd booked feb tho as the society of london theatre are doing a promo on half price tickets for certain shows, bookable from Jan.....take a look at their website.
Ok kgldsun, just saw your post............still a major bargain room tho' despite the brekkie fiasco eh?Most Hotels near airports charge 10-15x that ammount, tho' I see your disappointment.
