Hi there, I'm new here so I hope this thread is ok. I have been seeing a Hungarian Dentist in London since July and everything was fantastic until this last weekend.
I have had a Brace put on which apart from being uncomfortable is fine, but she also extracted one of my Lateral Incisors as it was pretty horrid.
Anyway she then stuck a false tooth on my brace.. just stuck there with glue!! it was horrid, anyway by the time I returned home to West Sussex it had fallen out and I was just left with the sharp metal of the brace cutting my lip. I was really unhappy as you can imagine.
So Monday I went all the way back up to London to get it redone, my normal Dentist wasn't there, but the other dentist pretty much did the same thing and also put some cement sort of stuff on to fix the tooth to the canine tooth.
You've guessed it by the time I had nearly got home the cement stuff had crumbled and now the tooth is hanging on to the brace with the glue and looks really unsightly. It moves terribly and I can't talk
I have phoned the Dentist but they are closed today, so I am desperately going to try to find a Dentist in my home town to help..not sure that they will want to get involved??
Has anyone any ideas as to what will keep this tooth stuck on whilst my front tooth moves back with the brace.. I wish she hadn't removed this tooth until my front teeth were sorted out.
Thanks for reading

Did the extraction need to be done in order to create room so that the braces could move the teeth into position?:money: Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to everyone who has helped.0

Seems strange to take out the tooth and then add it. Hardly creating space. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
No not at all, the tooth was bad and very wobbly so it did have to come out.. I've managed to get an appointment at a dentist where I live thank goodness
I'll let you know how I get on

Its gone from bad to worse as the English Dentist is now saying that my gums are so bad that the brace should never have been put on.!! But if they do the work its now going to cost thousands and thousands.. as they want to remove the brace and create a plate with the tooth, do hygenist work and then fit the brace again.
My Father has contacted the Hungarian Dentist and kicked up a real fuss and now they are wanting to help and are devastated with whats happened.. they are wanting to fix everything..
I have no idea what to doBe kind to nature, and nature will look after you...0 -
I was wondering why a brace had been put on somebody who had a lateral incisor that was "bad and wobbly"
I bet they're bricking it since the fuss was kicked up and it doesn't surprise me that they're wanting to 'help'.
It's up to you, but they sound like they've 'helped' quite enough.
You might suggest they 'helped' by contributing to the cost of making things better - I'm pretty sur you'd have a watertight legal case against them.
BTW, if you know the name of your hungarian dentist, then it might be worth checking on the General Dental Council's website that they are registered to be allowed to work in the UK.

You'd need to spell the name correctly though. How to find a dentist.

A classic case of why you shouldnt have treatment done abroad. But good luck to you, I hope it all works out in the end0

But the OP had the work here in London didnt they? The trouble nowdays is that we assume every Polish bloke is an excellent plumber/builder and every Hungarian is ditto dentist. Why on earth do people believe that.
Id much rather have all the work done here by a registered dentist who I know wont disappear on the next flight home if something goes wrong.
Poor wildcat - as Toothsmith says get them to agree to paying for some proper treatment.
Why did you choose this dentist in the first place, just out of interest? How can they be devastated at whats happened? They have been treating you for months - its not as if your gums have suddenly become diseased is it.0 -

There was an article in one of the papers about a Hungarian dentist who was reistered with the BDS and was doing consultations in the UK.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
How awful for wildcat - and such a long way to go every time up to London.0
