To be honest, the provident debt is not getting paid at the moment. I 'fell out' with my collector and she said she would get them to phone me with a new person to collect the money but they never did, then I moved house and haven't told them. I know, I know...
The council tax owed is from my last place, was living with my ex then and he wouldn't pay anything, again, I know, I know.
This month coming up I will have to pay £100 to my phone/broadband/tv (it is a deal from Virgin for the three) from moving house but after then it should work out around the £30 mark.
There are probably other things that are outgoing that I can't think of at the moment. I just have no way of paying out money that I do owe when I can't really cover living. Oh I also owe £500+ to my electricity company from before I moved too...
Getting really stressed about all of this, I'm 21 and got the debts from living with my ex. I can't afford clothes, haircuts etc so I don't get them. I don't think anyone here can help really since I don't have the money coming in to cover it. But any advice appreciated

Oh I hear you on carpy exes, I paid the rent with one of mine for six months. It's awful. Nearly £2k I was mugged for :S
I noticed your spending around £36 on travel. I'm going to assume that is a travelcard (based on the fact you don't seem to drive and your rent is high). Do you get tubes everywhere? Would it be feasible to switch to a weekly bus pass?
Get the Vanquis card paid off as soon as possible, interest rate like that is ridiculous. I nearly went for one when times were hard but I thank my lucky stars I didn't! I would sort out the Provident one as well because that's doing no favours for your credit rating!
I'm pretty new to this being sensible thing myself so that's all I can really say.

Welcome
There will be ways to start tackling this situation.
Have a read of http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/protect/make-money
Do you have stuff that you can put on e-bay, amazon or take to a car boot sale?
Do you know about https://www.freecycle.org - which is like e-bay but the stuff is free so you can get things you need ?
The absolute priority to to organise a deal on that council tax.
Can you get an extra job for a few months as your rent to salary ratio is high? That would clear some of the old debts (which you need to add into your SOA as well)If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
First of all welcome to the forums and well done for posting your SOA this is the biggest start to getting things sorted..
Mines been up maybe a couple of weeks and i feel different already so dont give up ok!
The main thing that is noticeable from your accounts is that your earnings are very very low. you have explained other high things that go out but clearly its your earnings that are causing the main problem. Is this a normal 9-5 mon to fri job ? Is there any chance you can get another part time job somewhere to help bring your salary up? Many of us on here work 2 jobs and have families so it is possible to juggle everything.
Your council tax seems high is there any arrears in this? Can you pay over 12 months? Have you got your 25% single persons deduction on there?
Do you have maybe room where you can take a lodger in?
It also says you dont pay any water do i take it this is in with your rent?
Your mobile could get dropped down at least a fiver if not a tenner a month. PAYG do some great deals with loads of free calls and text available.
See if you can get a broadband deal that offers more channels/telephone and internet all in one may work out less than what you are paying individually for yours?
All in all others will be along to give you some great advice and the light will shine.. maybe dim to start off with but it will x2025 Wins ::

Oh! And I called my local council tax office today in tears with a baliffs letter clutched into my hand. The lady was dead nice and organised it so I can pay it off, a nice round figure starting from next month. She also filled in a council tax benefit form for me which was nice as well. So ring them!!!Lloyds CC: £5150.73

Hi Again
You might want to check out whether there is a local credit union. Some of the bigger ones offer "freedom loans" to help people get out of provident and payday type situations. Our local one has an APR of 26% on these compared with 11% on normal loans but it is still a lot cheaper than the Provo
But the thing you really have to tackle is that CT. They caqn take your stuff for non-payment.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Have you applied for rent/council tax benefit? I don't know if you'd be entitled to it be gotta be worth a shot? I'm not in the same situation as you so not sure of your entitlement.
Also the council tax from your previous property. My sister was in the same situation and her ex wouldnt pay anything, she asked him to go halves. Anyways it turned out he ended up having to pay it all because he was on more money than here. So contact your council tax office if he earns more than you and just see about it. It may not be the same now as that was a couple of years back.
If you've got time, set the ball rolling today while its fresh in your mind...
Good luck.Initial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80

I realise you've probably done most of the above, but thought i'd put them out there. If provident are still charging you interest, you need to get that sorted asap. Do you have a decent credit rating? If so you may be able to get a creditcard with a 0% promotional offer like virgin to pay towards some of the debt. I agree with RAS that the CT is the priority though. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Just going to answer them all in one message

The £36 travel costs is a monthly bus pass, which is cheaper than a weekly one.
Don't really have anything to sell at all...
My earnings are low? That's £13,500 per year, it's not too low is it? The council tax, I'm not sure exactly what it will be monthly, still waiting on my card to pay it. Tried to call them today but their systems are down. I was just dividing the £700 odd im to pay by the 7 months its for. The water is in with my council tax. My mobile is £15 because that is the deal I use on PAYG, £15 and I get unlimited calls/texts to other o2 numbers. Can't find anything cheaper out there. My broadband/tv/phone is all in one.
Not entitled to any council tax/rent benefit, looked into that. Can't get my ex to pay because haven't a clue where he is, neither do any of the companies.
I have a very bad credit rating... no chance of getting any credit card.
God that sounds all doom and gloom doesn't it.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
