Back to basics PDA

Has anyone seen this site dedicated to organising your life on good old fashioned index cards, rather than fancy electronic gadgets? Brill!
The Hipster PDA (Parietal Disgorgement Aid) is a fully extensible system for coordinating incoming and outgoing data for any aspect of your life and work. It scales brilliantly, degrades gracefully, supports optional categories and “beaming,” and is configurable to an unlimited number of options. Best of all, the Hipster PDA fits into your hip pocket and costs practically nothing to purchase and maintain. Let’s make one together.
Building your first Hipster PDA
1. get a bunch of 3"x5" file cards (here’s 500 for less than 3 bucks)
2. clip them together with a binder clip
3. there is no step 3
More details - Hipster PDA. Seems to be something of a cult!

looks really good jenny
I always seem to organise my life on bits of paper (they are all over the place )
so an organised way of doing the same would be greatI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Ohhh this reminds me of when I first started work (pre computer) all the PAYE, saleries NI for 6,000 staff were kept on cards. Oh how I loved my roladex:D If you wanted to appear flash you could ripple it like a croupier does with a pack of cards. Even when we got a computer (only one per floor:rolleyes: ) it was still quicker to work things out with a roladex and a compometre. Ahh the good ol days, platforms, loon pants, bubbles perms, goodness knows what the girls were wearing but us boys looked Tony Tigretastic:oLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

They used to laugh at work when I referred to my ciggie packets as disposable PDAs.0

Yaaaay
I could (almost) be fashionable
Wouldn't know how to use a 'real' PDA anyway. I have a pocket diary (which sits on my desk - used for booking of mytsery shopping jobs) and a pen and assorted old receipts in my bag for the making of important notes on. What more does an OSer need?
With all this in mind, I may spend some time tonight sorting out the ever growing pile of paperwork neatly arranged by my feet. Mr TM commented on it tonight0 -
This may sound defensive but I could not cope without my pocket PC. I have my calendar on outlook at work, each of the children's school calendars entered onto Outllook on the home computer, and my DH has various dates on his outlook calendar as well. And yet they are all synchronised with each other and it takes seconds so no clashes or missed appointments. Plus I have all the family's birthdays automatically carried forward from year to yaer with reminders set up for a week beforehand so i don't forget to buy a card.
But the best thing of all for the frugal minded is the pocket version of Microsoft Money. I download my bank statements nearly everyday onto the home computer then upload a summary onto my Pocket PC so I always have a summary of where i stand.
I used to be a gadgetaholic but I've weaned myself off that now. but I would still recommend a pocket PC if both of you work and you have childrenIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
I carry a note book and pen as well as a calculator in my handbag all the time.
So I can make notes and also work out how much things are in a multipack etc.
Mind you I have a sad little life and don't have that much going on in it so don't need to be that organised.
Yours
