Getting out of contract - faulty phone
I have a contract with o2 that has 3 months left on it at £35 a month.
However, my current phone - LG Viewty has problems within the firmware that are really p!ssin me off!!
However, I am wondering if I am entitled to cancel my contract because of the problems with the phone that are in the firmware not in the hardware. Which, O2 cannot do anything about
I have been with them for 3 years and have spent a fortune with them. Its annoying that they just treat you like crap when your supposed to be a "valued" customer. At the end of my contract I can say im leaving and they will give me cracking retention deals, however - if my phone sucks they just dont care

- If I miss the space bar button, it cancels the message
- Sometimes when I try to click on something after scrolling, it just jumps about and I cant actually click on it
- When I try to close applications down, it shuts the phone down
- When I plug the phone into my computer, sometimes it connects and then disconnects. Other times it just shuts the phone down

You can't cancel your airtime contract because of a handset problem.0

I would speak to customer service and see if they will do anything about the handset, but as the other poster stated you can not cancel your contract because of this. When you get your contract it is for the SIM and you usually get the phone for free.0

how long was your contract? if you are within 3 months of the end of a 18 month contract they may let you upgrade early (that is if you want to upgrade), Im with Orange and upgraded in January when my contract was due to run out in AprilWeight Loss - 102lb0

If you are a select customer (high spend, although on £35 a month I doubt you will qualify) then you will be able to upgrade now, however if it is just a handset fault then you can ask for a repair or see if they will do a doorstep swap for a reboxed (refurbished, although they aren't "used" phones, just ones people have sent back in the first 14 days). If you are not a select customer then you can upgrade in 2 months anyway, you are able to upgrade in the month before the end of your contract. You may as well just wait out the 8 weeks and get a new phone to be honest.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Noo, I can upgrade in November, contract runs out in Decemeber.
Whats a select customer then? I spend £35 a month PLUS a £10 web bolt on.
My last few bills have been £48, £52, and £58. not to mention my bills about 2 years ago of £100-£200
Does that not qualify, and how do I let them know I *want* to be counted as a select customer?Cashback
