Can anyone recommend a freeware pdf creator? I want to print to pdf's from word and internet pages. I have acrobat elements on my laptop (came with it) but no install files to put it on the desktop machine.
Thanks in advance!

I use pdfFactory from http://www.software-partners.co.uk
It installs as a printer, really easy to use as you just 'print' your document to it.Latest Wins: 08/06 Cinema Ticket
A big THANKYOU to everyone that posts comps!

Cheers!. Looked promising except:
pdfFactory standard for Windows - creates PDF files from any software package. In trial form no restriction except 'shareware' footer on every page.0 -
Try http://pdf995.com/
It is a bit irritating in that it opens webpages everytime you use it, but it produces "clean" PDF docs.0 -
Try pdf995 (http://www.pdf995.com/download.html) download the printer driver and free convertor and install both for it to work. It does the same as the one Philb mentioned but doesn't put any footers on anything. There is also pdfedit which you can download which can be used to manipulate pages more.
Also, as a tip - once installed it will default to American letter paper size. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Printers (or similar) and right click the printer, choose Properties, and Print settings and change to A4.
Edit- sorry innovate. Was busy tring to remember how to change the print settings and you got there first!0 -
If you download install OpenOffice (it's open source, so free), you can open Word documents in it, and then just click a button and it will convert them to .pdf .

Thanks to innovate and gizom, sounds good, but what are the webpages that open? that doesn't sound so good.
marka87uk: I have openoffice. If only it didn't mangle my complex documents when it opened them. So it is great for making pdfs out of OOo docs but not out of word files unless you have the time to spend tidying everything up. Sadly, I have to keep using Word at work. Also, with OOo you cannot 'print' a webpage to pdf.0 -
It is just a pop-up that come up every time you create a new document telling you that if you upgrade to the full version it won't come up any more.lipidicman wrote:Thanks to innovate and gizom, sounds good, but what are the webpages that open? that doesn't sound so good.
It is not spyware, and they only come up after you create a document. I hate pop-ups but considering this is free and highly useful software I don't mind.0 -

I second PrimoPDF. Very easy to use, no popups, no banners, just print to pdf.0
