Best Value for Money 1Mb Uncapped B/b?

I know there's been loads of threads about broadband ISPs, & I have read most, if not all, of them now, but...

I've missed E7even's latest offer of double speed broadband, but I've also read a few bad reviews about them now. Complaints about speed at evening & weekends being the common theme.

I've found a similar offer from Euro1net of 512k for £10pm, upgraded to 1Mb for the duration of the initial subscription term. Uncannily similar to the E7even offer - are they connected?

Euro1net waive the connection fee for people migrating and signing up for an annual package of 1Mb, so despite the double speed offer, it actually works out cheaper overall to go for the 1Mb option at £13.99pm

E7even charge £13pm for their 1Mb service & a £30 connection fee whether migrating or new to ADSL, so despite their reputation of bargain broadband, they're actually slightly dearer.

There's not many posts on here about Euro1net - a couple of people posted that they'd signed up around March, but no follow up to say how it's going

I don't do gaming, I don't do a huge amount of downloading, but if I do get the urge then I don't want to wait all day ;) . I did read in one thread that Euro1net took a dim view of P2P sharing. Is this substantiated or just a general view that one could say applies to all ISPs?

I'm getting stuck on the cheapest, & concerned that you only get what you pay for. Quality & reliability are also important factors in this. Has anybody got any better ideas?

Some months back I noticed a post on here recommending the Euro1Net offer and contacted them. They denied any link with E7even but you are absolutely right in saying that their offers and websites are so similar it does make you think !! However I have not heard any bad reports about Euro1Net. Let us know how you rate them if you join!! Have you checked them on : https://www.adslguide.org.uk and https://www.ispreview.co.uk ??
Also you could always send a PM to the people who posted around March asking them how they rate their ISP!!

Euro1net is one of the ones I've looked at as I wonder about broadband. I think that the £10/month for 2 years double-speed offer is better than you noticed though - it has connection and modem included.

It seems to come out well in those reviews for speed, reliability and customer service.

I have read scepticism from some people that these bought ahead contracts are very close to or below wholesale cost and may be something of a cashflow gamble. But other ISPs are advertising that free upgrades from 2 to 8MB/s will occur when available, so you wonder if future prices are dropping.

So I'm indecisive as well, and hoping for feedback ...

One thing to look at is the cost of calls to customer support. They have a support contract option with a freephone number (maybe I'd just sign up for the first month), and a premium rate one for others (but you can email).
  • Looking on https://www.adslguide.org.uk, Euro1net consistently comes in above E7even for speed, reliablity and customer service. I also compared it to Metronet and Zen and it wasn't significantly lower on any score.

I checked https://www.ispreview.co.uk & found 2 positive reviews and no record of any complaints. The only comment in their comparison chart was "Too cheap?" - not much of a criticism in my book

Still can't find much, perhaps they've only got a couple of customers
