I think I am going to loose my little boy, poppy

He hasn't been to well the last few weeks. He started not eating much never been a big eater. We took him to the vets some weeks back and they gave him something to make him eat, urine test and some antibiotics, they said he was slightly dehydrated. The asked us to come back if he hasn't improved

For a week or so he was improving. But he went back into his ways of not eating much. They took a blood test and we were told the following day his red blood cells were low and his anaemic

We took him back in and they gave us some steroids. We have given just him some and fed him with a syringe and some water (purified)

Yesterday (Sat) he wasn't looking to week, back legs weak they been like that before and very tired. They gave him a boost injection of steroids

I asked vet if its possible to have a blood transfusion which he is looking into when we g back on Monday, I get feeling vet isn't too hopefully he implied its quite serious and its blood count would be even lower when we took him in.

Tonight despite a good start today, he was again sticking his tongue out and having some difficulty breathing He is outside at mo getting some fresh sea air (foggy tonight) that is helping him. I suffer from asthma so I hope they fresh air will help him as its hot inside the house tonight

I get feeling he may be put down soon I cant allow him to suffer it aint fair on him, he been such a food friend to me, I will miss him so much

He is almost 13.I love him dearly so does everyone kids are in tears

& you have given him a good life and that is really all you can do. Love him while he is here, and try to make it easier for him. It is going to hurt when it comes, no way round that; its the price you have to pay.
Stay with him, hold him reassure him.

I just picked him up and took him inside and he started panting I took him to the back door and he started growling I out him down and he collapsed on the floor he couldn't stand up. He was then sick.

I managed to calm him down and he is in integral garage now on a blanket he looked really unwell, he all of a sudden after 10 minutes got up and went t his letter tray he back legs slightly wobble. He did no2 on outside of tray and I picked up him and now he is on blanket we are going to stay up and comfort him. I dont know what else to do

Be strong for him Bless his cotton socks. I am looking after a friends dog he is 14 he has been run over, had a stroke, has injections twice a day as he is diabetic, he is deaf and has had his catarax done, just don't give up hope as when it seems there can be nothing done quite often they pull through. Have you a fan you could use to cool him? So sorry x

Heartbreaking - I am so sorry. It possibly won't help you at the moment, but remember that you are feeling far worse than he ever did. He knew he was loved and he's suffering no more.

    God bless :A
