Steamed sponge (syrup) pudding

Options
Nove I've eaten all of Nigellas chocolate cake, I need to make a nice steamed sponge pudding, you know, the one with the syrup! Any good recipes?

I usually just make a dumpling mixture and add sugar. Then I put syrup in the bottom of my slow cooker and add the mixture on top. But I'm probably doing it all wrong :o

There are microwave steamed sponges and suet puds in the Sweets section Of the Old Style Recipe Collection. Both work very well.

When I make syrup sponge pudding I use the microwave.
Basic sponge recipe: ie. 4oz each sugar, marge & flour & 2 eggs
Generous helping of syrup in the bottom of greased pudding basin, sponge mix on top.
    Can't remember the timing, its either 4 1/2 or 6 minutes (!)
I would do 4 1/2, then a bit more if not cooked!
