Information on autocashback

I have been using cashback deals for the last few years and am fed up chasing my claims, so as I have only recently found out about autocashback which could get me a decent contract for (in the end) about £10 a month I think this is the way to go, the only problem is that most of the good deals are with companies I have never heard of.

Can anyone give me any advice on the good or the bad of the autocashback deals?

Thanks

  • If you are considering e2save/OPSP, please note in the majority of cases they will NOT pay the automatic cashback, er, "automatically".

I would like further information as to the retailers you are considering, as I would personally be wary of taking out ANY cashback deal with any company with a questionable ability to acquire the necessary funding, ie most "small" mobile retailers.

On a positive note, the automatic cashback deals are certainly advisable for those who feel they may not be able to complete the ToS of a normal cashback deal or simply haven't got the inclination to send LBAs or engage in MCOL, etc. They are also advisable as there are virtually no terms for you to fulfill and therefore recovering automatic cashback money is easy, providing the company doesn't go into administration :|.
  • I'm sure in many cases, simply writing to them firmly will induce them to cough up the automatic cashback, albeit within 28 days or any other time frame of their liking. If you want the cheque immediately, or indeed want to sue for the full amount (if any further cashbacks are to be claimed for), send them an LBA and hope they don't respond in time :D.

As you can see, automatic cashback can be a mixed blessing.

I would be confident in retrieving automatic cashback from any CPW/Phones 4 U offshoots. I cannot comment on the other companies as I have not heard of/traded with them.

Phones4U have an auto cashback on J700 clearance, combined with quidco and selling phone, it will be free.

When you send a LBA, the hope you surely have is that they do respond, and send you the money requested, so that you aren't put to the time consuming hassle of taking the threatened "action".
