Had your driving test on a Saturday? You might be owed some money
Official MoneySavingExpert.com Insert
What's this about?
Anyone who booked a practical driving test on a Saturday since November 2005 is entitled to a refund of around £10.50. This is due to a legal problem discovered by the Diving Standards Authority which meant it should not have charged people a premium for taking the test on a Saturday rather than a weekday.
However it has managed to amend regaulations allowing it to now charge the higher Saturday rate which came into effect from 7 July 08.
How to claim
The DSA is writing to everyone affected, in the next couple of weeks, with a claim form which will ask for your name, address, driving licence number and your signature. If you think you're entitled to a refund and do not receive a letter you can ring 0191 201 4098 between 9am and 5pm. The amount you receive will be the difference between the weekday and Saturday fee at the time you booked your test.
See the full press release. Read the Frequently Asked Questions from the DSA.

Any tips on how much money DSA has to do on your back before passing you will be much appreciated.
Does anyone know which centre has got more women examining? I find women examiners a lot fairer and less discriminative. Perhaps because they had to go through a lot of unfairness themselves by working in a such a male dominated field. :rolleyes:Absolutely desperate to buy my own house/flat. Living in rented bedrooms for the past 9 years is not fun.0 -

Don't believe that women examiners are fairer than men. They are just as difficult to please as the men if not more so. From ex-(male) :j examiner0
