kaupthing edge log in woes

checked my newly set up account at the weekend too see if it was working and really struggled to sign in with username and password but got there in the end (or so i thought)
was keen to transfer my saving to the account today for the first time
today same issue but my account has now been disabled due to incorrect password and hours of business finish at 8pm so unable to contact them by phone
i'm not particularly confident witth the log in process and therefore not confident to entrust my savings at this stage (was looking to do a £20k bacs today)
i have no issues whatsoever logging into my first direct accounts and compared to FD, Kaupthing appear to be a huge step back in the technology department
also a message flashed up about the whole system going down next weekend no way do i want my bacs transfer going missing
think i will leave it a month too see if the login process etc improves

I don't think there's anything wrong with their log on process:
1. Go here: https://www.kaupthingedge.com/UKLogin
2. Enter your username
3. Enter your password
4. Enter 3 characters from your memorable word
5. Click View accounts
All seems pretty standard to me.
Regarding systems going down, their website won't be related in any way to BACs transfers so I really wouldn't worry!0 -

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS RE. SERVICING
Intermittent service over the week-end of 5th and 6th July
As part of our ongoing commitment to making banking online with us as efficient and secure as possible, we will be undertaking some IT upgrades to our website over the weekend of the 5th and 6th July. During this time, you may find that you are unable to access your account or apply for an account with us as we expect our service to be available intermittently. If possible, we would ask that you do not access the website over this weekend and wait until our usual service resumes on Monday, 7th July. These upgrades will make both applying and servicing your account/s with us in future far quicker and easier. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience to you and thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding.
As a reminder, our call center is contactable on 08451 31 32 34.
Thank you for continuing to save with Kaupthing Edge.

I opened an online saver with KE last Sunday. There has been a few days delay because I was required to send them proof of address which I duly did, and today (Friday) I have received a letter in the post with my initial password, and an email this afternoon providing my User ID and account number.
Looking at both, I can easily see why your log-in may be subject to confusion. They use such stupid fonts to deliver this vital information. The password is a mix of numbers and characters and is case sensitive ... but the artsy-fartsy font leaves me wondering just what it is. Is that letter 'L' an uppercase or lowercase, and is that '0' a letter O or a zero.
I'm not even going to attempt my first log-in until their weekend software upgrade is completed, but I'm not looking forward to it. Will I manage to hit on the right permutation of iffy characters before I'm frozen out?
A plea to all financial institutions, not just KE ... when you want to impart important information like User IDs and passwords, please use a font that is clear and unambiguous.

I had problems when I went to log in for the first time. Phoned them up and the nice lady walked me through the process, which did involve her sending me three new passwords to try.
They have been having problems with first time log-in's but I have logged in numerous times since with no further problems. Also transfered money in on four occasions, all going smoothly.
Don't give up on them yet. I found them ultra helpful and no problems after the initial log-in.0 -
I have had no problems logging in or using the accounts since opening in February (hope it stays that way!!)Keep the Faith:cool:0

Stick with them. On-line service is simple and easy to use. And just about every posting on these forums has been extremely positive, bar one or two hiccups in getting setup initially. But yes, the password sheet they send out really is difficult to read as I remember. But once its up and running you should have no problems.0
