Yeah. None of them. The decent news this week - I have a job. I was only unemployed for a day and I start on Monday. It's temping and I am paid weekly so I should be able to do the BR in about 2-3 weeks. I can't wait for this to be over.BSC No 60

AN UPDATE
I have a new job. Contract was terminated a week last Friday, I registered at a new recruitment agency on the Monday and had an interview on the Tuesday. I got it by that afternoon.
I am now temping for Royal Mail. The money is better because I have more hours and the hours are more sociable as I only work one late evening a week and 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. Much better.
I've been training all of this week and I've done very well. I don't know how I'll do on the phones with the irate cusomers but we'll have to wait and see.
I've got all my papers ready for the BR - I just need to fill them in. This is where I need your help.
1. Do I fill them in on the computer and print them off?
2. Do I fill them in hadwritten and photocopy them?
3. Or is this is personal choice?
4. I also have all related paperwork in date order with the creditors letters etc., in a black folder to give to the OR. Is that correct?
5. How long will it take from when I submit my papers - the petition, EX60
and Statement of Affairs - to my Court Date? Approximately?
6. What do I tell work? Because I will need the whole day off and I'm temping - or shall I phone in sick?
Thank you in advance because I think I've asked everything else

Hi Lou, just wanted to add my best wishes! I went through bankruptcy after wasting too much money just suporting myself at uni. No reall extravagance. Most extravagant purchase was a PS2 which I then sold again and then bought another 6 months later (oops)! I just explained that the majority of it was on living costs as I didnt have a job and didnt receive a BRO or anything.
I would tell work you need a day off for the Doctors or for personal reasons. You can tell them later on about your bankruptcy once you've settled in.
Congrats on the new job by the way!matched betting: £879.63

If you like.
2. Do I fill them in hadwritten and photocopy them?
If you like.

Whatever you like, as long as the court/judge and OR can read them. You should leave them to sign and date for the court day.
4. I also have all related paperwork in date order with the creditors letters etc., in a black folder to give to the OR. Is that correct?
That's more organised than many. They get some paperwork in bin bags.
5. How long will it take from when I submit my papers - the petition, EX60

All up to your court. Each can work a bit differently. Phone yours up to find out exact how they like it all done.
6. What do I tell work? Because I will need the whole day off and I'm temping - or shall I phone in sick?
Maybe you are ill? Family emergency? etc etc..... Or be honest if your line manager is nice. Up to you really.

Well done on the job, fermi's covered all the other questions, just remember to take 3 copies of your soa and your petition, and if you do hand write them they all have to be in your own handwriting, don't be tempted to get someone to help you.
all the best IanI had debts, my circumstances changed, I tried but couldn't pay them, I dealt with them in the best way I could.........

I love your "If you like" Fermi hahahahahahahahahaha! You're fabulous!
As a person I'm very dramatic - live in cloud cuckoo land - which is why I've ended up bankrupt, probably. My friend defined me in two words once "Intellgent Bimbo" Lovely!
Right thank you for the great advice so I need to get everything sorted for myself and then it's up to the court?
Lovely
thank you xBSC No 60

Yep.
Check what the court needs you to do and how long their waiting list is (if any) as soon as you can, then you will know everything they want for certain and there won't be any surprises on the day.
I think most of us here have a second home in "cloud cuckoo land", but don't tell the OR.:rotfl:Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hello again.
I am almost ready and I keep saying that but I mean it this time. I'm filling in the forms and now come the questions! AGAIN!
1) What happens when you make your court appointment - what is the exact procedure if you could tell me - arrive at court, see the judge, sign papers?????
I've got my SAF and my Petition and an EX160 form because I am temping. I don't know if I can get that, though.
2) Does The OR phone your house? I am not happy answering the phone at home because of the Creditors thing but if they just say a name and not know they are that's ok - my father doesn't know up to now.
3) My wages go into my bank weekly - should I arrange the money goes into my mum's account for a couple of weeks?
4) What does 'cash in hand' mean on the form - I will have a bit left after the BR but I'm going to give that to my mother and pretend I needed it for something. It's Christmas and it's only about £200.
5) All of my debts have now been passed on to collection or sold - it says on the SAF to write the original creditor and the address of the collector - is that right and do I put the collectors name on too?
I phoned the court last week and they could have done it within two days! I phoned Tuesday and they gave me an appointment for Thursday but I said my forms weren't ready. She was helpful and pleasant and told me to call back when all my papers were prepared.
There's certain things on the form I don't understand. Not a lot but do I leave this blank? And have the OR check it? Oh and something about pensions? I have two frozen ones but they don't mature for 30 years - should I include that?
And can my employer sack me on the grounds of BR because I am temping?
I am trying to think of everything now.
Thanks for your help.BSC No 60

1) What happens when you make your court appointment - what is the exact procedure if you could tell me - arrive at court, see the judge, sign papers????? I missed out on the Court experience, but that's about it; a clerk checks your petition, takes your cash, you wait to see the Judge and he/she stamps the petition; you're bankrupt.
I've got my SAF and my Petition and an EX160 form because I am temping. I don't know if I can get that, though.
2) Does The OR phone your house? I am not happy answering the phone at home because of the Creditors thing but if they just say a name and not know they are that's ok - my father doesn't know up to now.Can you give a mobile number? They're quite discrete; I took the call at work, and when I realised who was calling asked them to phone my mobile.
3) My wages go into my bank weekly - should I arrange the money goes into my mum's account for a couple of weeks? That's what I did. It was our daughters account, and I think it would have been easier to get the money out of our biggest creditor.
4) What does 'cash in hand' mean on the form - I will have a bit left after the BR but I'm going to give that to my mother and pretend I needed it for something. It's Christmas and it's only about £200.Our cash in hand was a modest four figure sum, but I didn't think it worthy of declaring; basically it was all for essential expenditure.;)
5) All of my debts have now been passed on to collection or sold - it says on the SAF to write the original creditor and the address of the collector - is that right and do I put the collectors name on too?The original creditor will suffice' you're not to know who it's been sold on to.
I phoned the court last week and they could have done it within two days! I phoned Tuesday and they gave me an appointment for Thursday but I said my forms weren't ready. She was helpful and pleasant and told me to call back when all my papers were prepared. They are, almost without exception, very helpful.:D
There's certain things on the form I don't understand. Not a lot but do I leave this blank?Yes, your O.R will fill in any blanks. And have the OR check it? Oh and something about pensions? I have two frozen ones but they don't mature for 30 years - should I include that? No, they're not a realisable asset.
And can my employer sack me on the grounds of BR because I am temping? It depends on your contract, but very unlikely.
I am trying to think of everything now.I would just take it one step at a time; forget everything.
Thanks for your help.
