Oh, you lot are a joy aren't you?! Flipping antler jokes! :rotfl:
To the more serious posters.......thank you for your helpful replies. :T As for the rest of you........... .

Daft beggers......you made me laugh this morning and given that it's still before 7am and since I've had only 2 and a bit hours sleep last night...that's no mean feat. :D

Have you looked at deer antlers on eBay? They sell for quite reasonable sums. People want them for wall ornaments (with or without the stag  ) and they also make things from them, like walking sticks and buttons etc.

(Don't ask me how, that's just what one eBayer said  )

Personally I would use them as a 'prodder' and make sure I 'prodded' Jay-Jays backside once or twice with the sharpest pointy bit.

I will have pictures of them shortly but we're not allowed to use MSE as a base for advertising or selling stuff & I think Martin & co would use the pointy bit on me if I tried to flout that rule unfortunately.

The full set I have on my dining room wall would be a pain and half to post - best of luck.

Ok....another q. I've just found a grate in the loft. It's black and weighs a ton.

It kinda looks like this: untitled.jpg......only different. :rotfl: You get the idea though. :D

How much should I ask?

I've also found an almost unused Raleigh Max bike and loooooaaaadddds of other bits I'd forgotten were there. I've got a pine bed up there and a bedside cabinet. :o I really must try harder to stop hoarding stuff. :D

could you attach the antlers to the bike?

It could be worth finding out what any prospective buyers are going to do with them. Aren't they an aphrodisiac ground up? If so, it doesn't matter if they're damaged!
Just because you used to be you think everybody else is, don't you?

If you live in or near a big city, where plenty of potential buyers could collect, I'd put it on eBay with a lowish start price and let it find its own price.
Kids' toys like jigsaws should be sold individually at car boot sales, and I'm surprised you would even consider selling them as a lot, but you can also offer a quantity discount to encourage buyers to purchase more than one, e.g. £1 each or 2 for £1.50 for wooden ones.
  • P.S. On the subject of uses for antlers, there's a video somewhere in existence (it was featured on Help Yourself with Angus Deayton) which provides a step-by-step guide to making antler chandeliers!
