npower are still hanging on to the discount ... two emails, one with meter readings and request to re-bill and one to the Brighter Energy debate ignored so far

This is the question I asked The Brighter Energy debate - Can you confirm when the discount will be applied to a statement please? Is it at 12 months or 18 months?
Well now I have a reply -
Once you have been paying your bill by direct debit for 12 months a credit will be applied to your account. You will be able to see this credit on your next statement – which may be due up to six months from the date of the credit. This means that the credit will always be applied after twelve months, but you may not see it on your statement until 18 months from the start of your direct debit payments.
Just as I thought when I started this thread, another chance for npower to delay payments to its customers :mad:0 -

npower's 'annual' discount is yet another example of confusion marketing. How many people who hit the switching sites will actually realise that £105 of that 'saving' they make by switching to npower will be delyaed by up to 18 months? If the poster Quentin on here is anything to go by, approx 0.5%. For people who don't know Quentin, he's a very bright chap who is expert at seeking out the small print in the most obscurely-placed T&Cs. Yet Quentin didn't spot that the whole £105 is actually deferred for 12/18 months. If he can't spot it, what chance the man in the street?Call me Carmine....

They're discussing a dual fuel monthly direct debit discount. And quarterly billing is only available on a different tariff.0 -
Thank you very much for your replies so far.
I'm on the SOL13 tariff so quarterly billing is not an option,
I did ask about this last year when I received their letter telling me I was now on bi-annual billing.
Last year I was on quarterly billing on Sol7, incidentally that bill was dated
10th March and covered up to the 6th March 2008 (that completed my first year) and the discount was applied to the electricity account.
This year the dual fuel bill was dated 12th March covering up to the 8th March 09 but the discount wasn't applied
npower seem to have a problem defining a year don't they  Following on from the 'sculpting scam' I am now off to make Consumer Watch aware of this little gem "This means that the credit will always be applied after twelve months, but you may not see it on your statement until 18 months from the start of your direct debit payments"0 -
meggsy, why not just up and leave? Surely you've qualified for the annual discount and that should be applied on your final bill? Or maybe I'm missing summat really crucial here
:o
