I have spoken to an Icesave represenatative today who has advised that no BACS or CHAPS payments have been made since Sunday.

In response to my "what happens next?" question, I was advised that Icesave is waiting for direction from the Icelandic government to affective lift the 'no-access to account' status. Until such time us savers have to sit and wait.

I've just spoken to an ICESave representative, and she has confirmed that all BACS and CHAPS transfers that were requested yesterday will have gone through. She confirmed that my transfer which i requested on Sunday went through yesterday, and I will recieve my money in 3 days from now for "definite".

I ALSO HAVE JUST SPOKEN TO A NICE LADY AT ICESAVE AND SHE TOLD ME THAT ANY CHAPS/BACS DONE BEFORE 09.00 TODAY -WHEN THEY STOPPED ALL TRANSACTIONS WILL GO THROUGH -I DID MINE BEFORE 08.00
    KEEP FINGERS CROSSED
  • Similar story here. I was told about an hour ago by a nice Icesave lady that any transactions initiated before 0900hrs this morning would be processed as normal. I have yet to receive anything in my linked account yet having requested a CHAPS withdrawal at 2100hrs last night...........
If you can keep your head when everyone around you is losing theirs you haven't appreciated the gravity of the situation.

If the "before 8am/9am today" thing is true, and the bulk of my money is in my current account by the end of the day, I promise I am going to cry with relief. What we are going through right now, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I am in exactly the same position as PJD and ST. Closed the account this morning at 5am and can see that my account has been left with £10 and charged me the £30 CHAPS cost. I spoke twice with ICESAVE today and on both ocassions they confirmed that all fine and the funds have gone through!
HOWEVER, last time I checkd with my bank at 1:30 there was nothing there.
Please do post a note when anything arrived from ICESAVE to any of your respective accounts.
    Many many thanks

Well, yesterday I had requested a BACS withdrawal to be carried out next week (delayed by the fixed account), does it mean it will be done then? :D

I will be extremely relieved if I could see my money in my linked account. :j

I closed my account at 8.10 am this morn after a sleepless night, it says my 30k and isa of 7k have gone out on the icesave website, if what you say is true about chaps/bacs payments I will be overjoyed. Does anyone know when it might show up in my lloyds account or how I can find out if it is on its way to my UK account or as pending? Have spoken to lloyds but they cant see anything. many thanks

In the same situation as many others, still waiting for a CHAPS transfer made last night. I too called this morning and was told by a nice lady it will be tomorrow morning lets hope so.

Just seen Sky News that some Icelandic organisation/major creditor is pressing for a freeze on a large proportion of IceSaves creditors, ie you and me. The picture is somewhat confusing to say the least, other Sky reports claim all savers will be protected and that the Icelandic govt is going to get financial support from Russia as their other Scandinavian neighbours are not helping out as anticipated.

I don't relish the thougt of having to learn Icelandic in order to complete their compensation claim forms.
