  • I now need help with this one its for my Nephew who is going to be 13 next week, its a night in hamper with a small bottle of fizz thrown in for my Sister. My problem is I don't know how to wrap it, I have some black cellophane which will make it more mascaline but I can not top it off with a pull bow, he will think I have lost the plot

Any idea's will be much appreciated TIA

The black cellophane sounds brilliant and you could tie it with either a silver ribbon or a black one, just miss out the bow so its like a band round it.

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

    Hi D-D :) hi everyone :D

Loads of posts to catch up on and loads of lovely hampers lol, but have you thought of a bow tie D-D? Even a joke shop one might do? If that makes sense ;)

Better still - a home made one?

Another little hamper from me - for my Grandma :)

A seagrass container, with lid, containing Avon Lavender perfume, shower gel and liquid soap, Dove moisturiser, a honey/milk teddy bear soap and a bath scrunchie (thanks to a lovely MSE-er a while ago - was sent for another project but didn't make it in). The little voile bag is filled with Roses chocolates.

And wrapped - Cost £4.40, rrp of over £16 :)

Love it earthmother :T and you've given me a great idea of how to make the Avon that I bought (cheap lol) into a decent looking hamper - so thank you :)

Love the mix and match tissue paper - finishes it all off really nicely doesn't it? :)

i just happened to stumble my way on this thread i was ment to look at the gardening one..........dont ask how i got here but have been busy reading and wot lovely baskets u have made up im really interested in tying to make a few up and c how i get on , any hints?? or is it just trail and error?

It was trial and error for me too Funkyfarmgirl. After Christmas, I clean forgot how to make one up at all  lol. But I like the themed ones that people do (like mary43 wth a colour theme and a rose theme) and like earthmother said - don't be too afraid as that cellophane is tough! :D

I did a really lovely luxury hamper this week and it was pretty heavy, but once the cellophane's on you can just pick it up at the top and carry it around ;)

Likewise, I did two that were in popcorn type containers, and I thought the bottom would fall out :o but once the cellophane's in place, it was never going to go anywhere ...except to the recipient :D

Once you have an item you like, make that the focus and then put the bits and bobs together around it - then it can suit your pocket as well :)

I might just have a practice on a few and c how i get on ........nothing tried nothing gained......do u all make up your baskets/hampers for your family or do any of you do it to make money x

Have a try Funky - you might be surprised ;)

So far I've mainly done them for family & friends, but someone spotted one and asked me to make them one. I had the stuff in (c/o Boots lol), and some freebies, so that helped too, and the profit was minimal (like a few pence lol), but word gets around and I'm hoping that they'll be a hobby that makes a bit of pocket money :)

Thanks :) I didn't have a camera to take pics of my Christmas ones, or I'd be able to help a bit more :o lol. But I remember doing one for a teenage lad, bit similar to yours, and I bought a football penant of their favourite footy team, and hung that round its neck ...so to speak :D

Those are lovely hampers you've made there D-D, and I just know your daughter, especially, will be over the moon :) I would be ;)
