Basically - if you accept their 'bribe' don;t plan on switching service providers anytime soon. The 'catch' is that should you decide to switch, you will have to wait until your acceptance anniversary and do two things (1) Advise them of your opting out of the scheme - which can be anything from 1 to 365 days away. Once you do this (2) you can terminate once the lock-in period expires.

But it only ties you into line rental with BT anyway, you can still (and should) CPS your calls and/or use indirect access providers like 1899 and 18185.

I use a CPS calls provider as well but have programmed my Orchid to send weekend 01/02/03 calls via BT so as to ensure I get free Caller Display.

    Hi

What contract are you signing up to with BT?
If you are getting 12 months free weekend calls you can do that without a 12 mnth contract.
If free w/ends and eves you can get same with Primus CPS ,for nothing and without commiting to BT for 12 months.Keeping LR with BT.
If you sign for BT 12 mnths and you decide to switch your line rental away from BT then BT will hit you with £10.50 pm for the balance of the 12 mnths.
The recommendation here is to keep your line rental with BT BUT companies like Talk Talk, Tiscali have really cheap deals (Tiscali £15 bband and line rental)
Not signing up with BT for 12 mnths keeps your LR options open.

The V4 or V4 Plus is what most people use. It can be programmed to send calls via the most cost-effective route without the user having to remember to dial or remember codes or prefixes. The advantage is you don't have to think about how to route a particular type of call on a particular day or at a particular time of day - the Orchid does that for you.

You can opt to program it yourself or, as some on here do, follow the program I maintain. If you do that, Orchid send an email whenever the program changes and all users have to do is force their Orchids to 'call home' to pick up the revised program

The current program follows THESE RULES and the 'semi-automatic update system' is explained HERE.

However, as you're on-the-ball enough to make use of your telephone's memories instead, you may just want to stick with that. If so, please have a read of the series of recommendations/suggestions contained in the post under the 'HERE' link in my signature below.

Great, appreciate your help..... so setting 'ORCHID' just for 'free UK w/e Calls is straight forward? Orchid are able to help in setting up, how is this done? & signing up for Primus is straight forward just need your email for free option ?

    Thx again
