More Changes to the Tip

Well I hope you like the new format of the tip. Lots of work's gone into it to make it both easier to read and easier to scan and filter the info. Both the layout has changed and its now in section.

Please let me know what you think? Any other suggestions for improvements (easy ones, we can't add images and want to keep the memory it uses down)

Martin

PS if you're reading this on wed night, don't worry the tip isn't being sent till Thur morning.

  • Love the new look n feel - really does make the tip easier to read - great stuff :)

Only problem online is that the Andrea's freebies header has the blue hyperlink text which is a bit difficult to read against the purple.

  • Thumbs up from me - its in the well known order but its much easier to find things quickly and to go back to it for reference.

Nice one - keep up the good work.
  • Hi Martin,

Your emails keep getting bounced from my email address. The spam control is managed by others, and eventhough your "white-listed" your emails are flagged as suspicious. Maybe you could try to remove free from being the first word in the title? Here are my services spam rules

    pts rule name description
    ----

0.2 NO_REAL_NAME From: does not include a real name
0.0 SUB_FREE_OFFER Subject starts with "Free"
    1.9 NCL_053 Stock puffing (NCL)
    0.9 NCL_003 Nasty e-mail? (NCL)
    0.3 NCL_046 BODY: SMOKING (NCL)
0.3 BAD_CREDIT BODY: Eliminate Bad Credit
0.4 HTML_TAG_BALANCE_BODY BODY: HTML has unbalanced "body" tags
0.0 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message
1.0 HTML_FONT_LOW_CONTRAST BODY: HTML font color similar to background
0.8 SARE_HTML_TITLE_2WD RAW: strange document title
0.2 MIME_MISSING_BOUNDARY RAW: MIME section missing boundary
0.9 SARE_FROM_SPAM_MONEY From address suggests this is spam
1.2 PRIORITY_NO_NAME Message has priority, but no X-Mailer/User-Agent

Definitely easier on the eye. :)
  • New Format has Moire effects.

At least with me it does. It happens with the black band heading which includes the title "The Don't Forgets" and a similar purple one for "Andrea's Freebies".
Moire effects are those things we think we see - oten in peripheral vision - when scanning, or looking at something else. Many optical illusions rely on it.

For instance the black band seems to me to jump out either side of of its boundary, as I scan text above or below it. Reading the band itself does not cause the perceptual shift. However, the effect is disconcerting.

Hope its fixable soon! Best wishes.
  • Well done, I like the new style of money tips.
Keep up the good work people!

 Nice one, much kinder to the eye.

By the way, it's also a lot tidier in Mozilla Thunderbird.

    Keep up the good work!

Now now Mrs T. The tips come from me. Though I will admit these days I don't do the formating of it.....
