A LOW-SCORING first innings for Australia in the last Ashes Test, starting tomorrow, could be a double winner for cricket fans because British Airways has said that it will sell flights Down Under for the amount of runs the visitors clock up.
The airline will start selling the cheap flights after both teams have completed their first innings in the decider at the Oval. Australia’s score will be the price of the flight and England’s score will be the number of those flights sold to the public.
Seats on routes from London to Sydney and London to Melbourne from September 19 to March 31, excluding departures between December 9 and 23, will be up for grabs as soon as the second team finishes batting in the first innings.
Australia’s first innings scores over the four previous Tests range from 308 at Edgbaston to as little as 190 at Lord’s, setting an average of 255. Flights currently on sale for October on the BA website cost at least £530, excluding tax of about £100, if booked now. Flights to Melbourne, also in October, are at least £626, again excluding tax. A special phone line will be opened once both teams have completed their first innings

British Airways are doing a limited offer on flights to Sydney or Melbourne. The price of the tickets, and how many tickets are available will depend on the first innings scores of the next ashes test.
The amount of tickets available will be determined by Englands first innings score. So if we score 500 (I hope) in our first innings. There will be 500 tickets available.
The price of the tickets will be determined by Australias first innings score. So if they score 150 (lol......I wish) in their first innings. The tickets will be £150 each.
If the above scores happened in the next test. BA will offer 500 tickets at £150 a ticket. The current BA price is approx £600 per ticket.
A special phoneline has been set up for this promotion, and will open after the first two innings are complete. If you are interested, you will have to be very quick to grab these. Maximum 2 tickets each.
The number is 0870 850 2427
COME ON ENGLAND...........(or lets have loads of rain....lol)How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Question
How can I book the Fifth Ashes Test Match Special Offer to Australia?
Answer
From Thursday, in conjunction with the last Ashes Test of the series, British Airways will be launching a special offer on flights to Australia which will be dependent on the scores reached by England and Australia in their respective first innings.
The Price of the fare, including taxes, will be equal to the number of runs scored by Australia.
The number of flights available for sale will be equal to the number of runs scored by England.
How to Book:
As soon as the scores are known, a dedicated number (0870 850 2427) will be opened.
Bookings can only be made at the above number, when the lines open. Obviously we cannot predict when the lines will be opened as it is dependent on when the last wicket falls at the end of the first innings.
Please note:
Customers will be permitted to one booking only, with a maximum of two passengers per booking. Bookings are valid on British Airways operated flights only.
We expect a high number of calls to our dedicated telephone number when the lines open, so if you are unable to avail of the above promotion, please be aware that British Airways have their World Offer fares available for flights to Australia on ba.com or through your local British Airways sales office.0 -
