Plastic tubes of toothpaste,shampoos,handcream,etc

I find that when i can sqeeze no more out of the plastic tube, by cutting it in half I can scrape out and use quite a lot that would otherwise be thrown away.Saves money in the long run.

that's so funny - I was only thinking about this today as I used the bread knife to saw the top off a bottle of some rather expensive handcream which had stopped "pumping" out. There was about another week's worth of cream lodged in corners!
Then I thought about posting the tip here but chickened out for fear of looking TOO parsimonious - silly me - I should've known I wasn't alone........ :D :-*

No I don't dry the tea bags out, but as my wife only likes VERY weak tea, I dig out the tea bag from her mug very quickly, and put it into another mug ready for her next cup. I can usually get 3 or 4 cups from one bag that way! She never notices.

nooo, I don't dry t-bags as I can never find one that makes a strong enough cup in the first place! Not even Betty's from Harogate. or Yorkshire tea. tho that is better than some. I often have to use 2 bags all to myself (not money saving I know!) just to get a tasty cuppa!
Oh and I gave up washing and drying poly bags years ago! :D

I always dry my teabags out.
Then i put them on the garden as I have a very heavy clay soil it breaks it up nicely with a little hoeing.
    Saves buying expensive compost.
I also wash and save all my eggshells to put around plants its excellent for keeping away all the slugs from my Hostas the best remedy for the little blighters I have ever found.
I also save all the cardboard innereds from my toilet rolls to sew my seedlings in, then I just put the whole thing in the ground when they need to go into the soil.
    Saves buying expensive little pots.
    Shall I go on..............................................

I also save the cardboard innerds from long cooking foil and use them to send posters to people.
Always hoover up leaves in autumn (hoover has shredder incorporated) store in black bags with a few holes in them to allow air in and mix with grass cuttings(the next seasons) in the composter this makes good compost as grass on its own can be a bit damp.
Save plastic milk containers wash out cut tops off make a few drainage holes in the bottom and use as pots in the greenhouse etc etc.
Make your own slow release plant waterer. Get an empty drinkys bottle(best ones are 1ltr tonic or bitter lemon bottles)not the big 2ltr ones make a few holes in the sides very small holes otherwise the water will come out too quickly, good to use in strawberry planters etc so the water get right down to the bottom and for when you go on holiday.
    Getting bored yet......................................................
