Is anyone on here having problems viewing websites through their Orange Broadband connection?
Since early yesterday I've been unable to access my email or several websites, namely:
www.hmv.co.uk
www.waterstones.co.uk
http://webmail.tesco.net
www.virgintrains.co.uk (anything beyond the first page, when submitting a search)
also, www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk and the other rail sites I've tried.
I've called a friend who's also on Orange and he has the same issues, as do some others on the vnunet forums.

They've been having problems with the iTunes store.
I'm able to log onto these sites through my mobile phone over 3G so they aren't down, just not through my broadband connection.
Would be interested to know if others with Orange are able to get to any of these sites, or if they are having trouble with other ones.

Definitely must be Orange then!! We've had nothing but problems with them. Do you have to keep ringing them to reset your livebox aswell at 50p a min at least once a month, customer service isn't much good.0

Ha, orange, well there's your problem

As it is certain websites I would guess a DNS issue.
Do you have a router?
If so try inputting oranges DNS servers manually which from a quick Google are apparntly:
195.92.195.94
195.92.195.95
but don't quote me on it.0 -
It's good (in a way) to hear this isn't just a few users. Been having a look on OrangeProblems and they have mentioned DNS settings a few times along with alternative ones to try.24MKshopper wrote: »Definitely must be Orange then!! For customer services, a number listed on OP is 0845 6717125 which is local rate. I've never used this one myself so I'm not sure if it is still current or not. Months ago when I had lots of trouble getting a connection working with Orange I just called 150 from my Orange mobile and selected broadband from the menu, that call is free. I object to paying for customer services to start with, and even more if they are useless.
To reset your livebox, I guess you mean disconnecting it and reconnecting it? You can log into the router from within Internet Explorer by typing in 192.168.1.1, then 'admin' for both the username and the password, then do it from there. There's also a reset button on the router itself I think which does a factory reset, I did this once before.0 -

There seem to be the ocasional report of everything working again for a few, but nothing for others.
I still can't access any of the sites tonight.0 -
I rang phones4u and a prerecorded message said something about Orange. I didn't pay too much attention as I was only interested in vodaphone. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If it is an Orange DNS problem, use OpenDNS which is completely independent here.
Only takes a couple of minutes to set up.
