I just put money on voipbuster and I am utterly impressed!!!! Fantastic!!!
I will tomorrow configure it in Xlite to keep things simple. Can you have an incoming proxy as sipgate and an outgoing proxy as voipbuster running at the same time on xlite..

it does work, but i was reading the tariff and the terms...

ive terminated my account lolif i had known then what i know now0 -
tbh.. its going to work for a long time i'd assume so for one euro i'm not complaining. It tells you if the call's free or not so you can just hang up otherwise..
you can't make money calls when you have no credit in your accuont anyway[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Sipgate have been offerring these numbers for over a year now I beleive so don't worry.
And besides, if they don't offer those you could always pick up a free US geographical number from another site instead and get your mates to use https://www.call1899.co.uk and https://www.call18866.co.uk
btw the caller ID on my mobile is showing the https://www.callunion.com number I have as 050 . hmmm a new internet telephone number prefix?0 -

free washington state telelphone number. Free to call on 1899
oh no not free anymore on 1899. It's now 0.5/min but still!
this is also possibly a cheap way for relatives abroad to ring you as I'll expect it's cheaper to ring the states than the UK from most countries ahem espeically the states!0 -

Sorry it is now 1p a minute on 1899, it just keeps on going up, though 1p a minute is still good.
Better still we have friends and relatives in the States get them to sign up for a local UK number and then anyone in the UK can call them for free without needing to call on VOIP using 1899 or 18866 (just pay a connection charge).
The problem is, and no one will believe this, but broadband is a lot more expensive in America.0 -
just downloaded X-lite yesterday and configured everything and i could receive calls but now it's not working. is anyone having problems with the sipgate network? Just wanted to check to see if it's not my uni blocking access to sipgate (they tried to ban skype!)
Thanks!0 -

I use a sipura SPA adapter with sipgate and I've had no problems. It must be something to do with your configeration or possibly firewall settings?
There is a configeration guide for x-ten somewhere on the sipgate site which may be of help.0 -
I have been using sipgate for a few months and have an local dialing (01**) code. You can also call other VoIP for free. Just log in & look at the tariff options, you have to type in special codes before you dial
Hope this all helps
Example
Gossiptel.com
Free connections to Gossiptel:
Dial the prefix 000467 and the phone number of the Gossiptel connection
Free connections from Gossiptel:
Please dial **777 and the phone number of the Sipgate customer.Payneardo0 -
