i agree about some of the stores quality of uniform,i have bought cheap in the past and have ended up buying again so it is not neccesarily cost effective a lot of the uniforms dont wash and stay looking good i have seen comparitive wash/wear/iron from various shops,a lot of the uniform price war is just to get the shoppers in so they buy other things and increase the shopping basket price, its true what they say in this case you get what you pay for0

Lots of nice school trousers and skirts reduced to £3 in my local branch. Much better quality than supermarkets for the price.

M & S have got 15% off selected school uniforms and free delivery online (received an email from them dated 18th August).
Always find M&S washes and tumbles the best, plus if you have any problems their customer services are much more willing to replace/refund than Tesco's.
MK's Asda doesn't open until November but will be straight in there for the George bargins!
Big thing for me is the fit as my daughter is very skinny and usually only fits into Next!0 -
Asda had packs of 2 coloured polo t shirts for £2 per pk. Unfortunatly the 1 I picked up had age 14-15 inside when on the outside it said 5-6  . That means a return trip for me.
I got my younger sons white polo shirts and trousers from Sainsburys 25% off and then I got another 15% off that with staff discount.
My older son is costing me a fortune this year. He is going into seniors and needs complete uniform change. He is not even 12 yet but he takes a mans size 8 shoe  . He is as tall as I am, ok, that wouldnt be too difficult since I am only 5ft 2. Whatever happened to my sweet little angel ?

Anyone in Liverpool needing a school uniform, I can highly recommend a little shop in Broadgreen Road, Old Swan (L13) just off Prescot Road who sells uniforms for a number of local schools both primary and secondary (I know that they do "Childwall Sports College" AKA "Childwall Comprehensive" AKA "The Holt" as my mum used to buy parts of my uniform there as well as my sisters & now brothers!) . I searched Asda, Tesco, Ethel Austin and numerous local shops to find DD's royal blue tracksuit bottoms with no success in even finding any in the right colour (school wants £8.50 a pair because they have the school logo on them!) and they cost me £5.99 a pair in this shop.
Specific details (taken from their carrier bag) are:
Swan Fashions, 13 Broadgreen Road, Old Swan, Liverpool
0151 228 9000
They specialise in schoolwear but if you don't live nearby I'd ring to check they have what you need before going as its a small shop with ALOT of stock, including stuff with the school logos on, all great quality and much cheaper than Lazer on London Road or the schools themselves!Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
can't see any mention of Matalan
they've a sale on school uniforms at the moment, been buying daughters trousers from them for yrs as she is tall and thin and their trousers are more fitted in the waist, they also have a large selection of boys trousers in different colours and styles,
daughter is in year 9 now and wanted fitted style white shirts, got them from Matalan, ladies size 8 for £4 each and she had black tousers from their ladies range too for £10
Aldi have some great deals on at the moment for pens/pencils etcI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards.
