Hi there,
You may have noticed the adverts on TV for a new 118 directory enquiry service. (118-888), they are advertising a special offer whereby they give you an entry to the lottery each time you ring them to request a companies phone number.
Having only half-heard the advert I logged onto their website to check and see if what I thought I heard was correct. It is, but what I discovered whilst on their site is even better - they have a No Purchase Necessary option! In effect giving you a completely free entry to the lottery.
I haven't trawled through their T&Cs, but I presume (as you must provide your mobile number) that they will use your details for some purpose, which might put some people off. Personally I think it's worth it.
the 118-888 website can be found here - http://www.118888.co.uk
Just scroll down the T&Cs and fill out the registration form.
Good luck, hope a moneysaver wins!!!
Official note: Winnings from three numbers are pooled and winners picked.
No Purchase Necessary terms and conditions taken from the site:
"3. No purchase necessary. To enter without purchase, entrants must provide their contact details and mobile phone number to the no purchase necessary route at https://www.118888.co.uk (the Website). Following successful submission of the entry, the promoter will send an Email to the participant with a security code unique to that entry. Participants must then enter the security code online and the promoter will send an SMS text with the Numbers allocated to that entry to the participant. Online entries are limited to one entry per person per week."

It is a free entry but the odds of winning big are reduced by these T&C's9.2 Claimants whose Numbers match three numbers in the relevant Draw will not receive the standard National Lottery prize for matching three numbers.
Instead, all winnings generated by valid claimants in this promotion who matched three numbers will be combined by the promoter into a prize pool.
The winner of the value of the prize pool will be the valid claimant whose Numbers matched three numbers in the relevant Draw and who is selected at random by the promoter from all such claimants.
9.3 Claimants whose Numbers match four, five, five plus the bonus ball, or six numbers in the relevant Draw will receive a share of the winnings allocated by the National Lottery in the relevant Draw to the Numbers in question. The amount won will depend upon the number of winners of the Draw nationally, and the number of participants in this promotion who make a valid claim.
10 To operate the promotion, the promoter will purchase 10,000 tickets, the numbers on which will be selected at random, in each week’s Draw. Throughout each week of the promotion the promoter will allocate to participants at random a set of numbers (“the Numbers”) matching one of the promoter’s tickets in the Draw for that week. 1000 participants each week will be the exclusive recipient of the Numbers allocated to their call. The other participants will share in the pool of the remaining 9,000 Numbers with each participant receiving one set of Numbers on a non-exclusive basis. The number of participants who share the same Numbers will vary each week depending upon the number of participants in the promotion in any given week.
Good spot for the No purchase necessary though:D0 -
Question:
1. Do we pay for the text message that they send us?
