I ambled down to my local branch this morning and handed over a cheque.
I took some i.d. with me even though I am an existing member. They took everything off me, photocopied it, gave it all back to me (minus cheque of course) and gave me a passbook duly completed.

Does anyone have an idea how often these offers normally last? I'd like to do this one but would need to withdraw from ING or Icesave first. I don't want to do that if this offer is highly likely to have disappeared before the DD back into my current account happens?

    cheers

Thats just it you see, this ICE Save thing, they do not want you to with draw you cash! From ICE Save.

You have to go to the Chelsea, open up an account (Fixed rate) minimum £1000.00, just have it lying around etc? Then wait for your account number, if opened by post, then download a form from the ICESave website, fill it in as your new nominated account, the Chelsea fixed rate, pop it in the post, wait for processing, 8 days later, instruct ICE Save to BACS or CHAPS you cash into you new Chelsea Fixed rate account.

    What a ball ache!

until provider has brought in the amount of funds they desire, id be suprised if its available more than a week id be

im  u didnt make a decision middle of week when thread was posted re forthcoming chelsea fixes was posted. ;)

chance for Yorkshire Bs reg savers to get their own back on Yorkshire BS for one base rate increase not passed on at all :( and another 0.25% base rate increase only met with a 0.10% reg saver increase :(

I say move funds on mass out of Yorkshire RS into Chelsea Fixed and give Yorkshire BS a "bloody nose". :cheesy: ( further base rate reductions are predicted)

thats the trouble with keep chasing best rates. ;)

btw king kenny says notice must be given on existing chelsea notice accounts before transferring over to fixed rate account. ;) ( cheeky 2 think u can get higher interest on notice account then switch instantly when a higher rate account is launched imo. ;), im suprised you put money in a chelsea notice account, u know better than most that chelsea would launch a better paying account sooner rather than later  )

So what people on here going to do fix for 1 year or fix for 2 years.

I think they normally set a limit as to how much cash that they want to raise through these accounts and when that limit is reached, the offer is withdrawn. If this is true then it depends how quickly people subscribe to it as to when it is withdrawn. I am not familiar with ING or Isesave (for my sins), how much notice is required ? I gave them a cheque this morning but the funds for clearance will not be in place to clear it until Tuesday when I transfer them from my internet a/c. Following Tesco's catchphrase, "Every little helps".

"was branch very busy. ( i was worried would be over subscribed before monday:rotfl: )"

It was like Aberdeen on a flag day. I got the impression that the product knowledge was somewhat limited at 11 o'clock, I would deduce from this that I was the first punter of the day subscribing for one of these a/c.s.
Anyway, they do a nice cup of coffee so the wait was quite relaxing

To much of a ball ache with regards to ICE Save, i will stick with this.

    http://www.icesave.co.uk/accountinfo_fixedrate.htm

Have to question the solvency of the Chelsea, offering this up when the BOE base rate is falling, someone is short of real cash?

Its not a liquidity problem with banks and B/S, more of a solvency problem, too much subprime lending? Chelsea Crock!

The telesales department rules at the Chelsea B/S, state no internet use, fancy that posting on here while at work.

You should not use the internet while at work bristolleedsfan! I do not know how you do it, answering all those calls and posting on these sites, but then your use of English grammar leaves something to be desired, shows you probably did not attend a school of any kind, are you there on a work experience placement there from Illiterate college?

Maybe they will offer you a full time post when you reach 18?
