500mlShampoo or Cond for 25p

I noticed in Superdrug that they are selling little empty, plastic travel bottles for £1.99 - to put creams or lotions in when going on holidays. However, these bottles are quite small so I dont think anything you put in them would last a 2 week holiday.
However, I prefer to buy the right sized bottle I like with something already in it, such as fairy liquid. I use empty fairy liquid bottles to take washing liquid and other cleaning products I might use on holiday.
I saw today that Superdrug sell shampoo and conditioner (like a no frills product), each in a really handy 500ml bottle for only 25p!!! So Ive bought both shampoo and conditioner which I will try to see if its any good. But Ive mainly bought them so that I can take Ariel Rapide (I don't want to take a normal full bottle of ariel) and also some lenor in which to soak my bikinis and beach towels on holiday.

i always do that too Beth.
I always take super cheap but full sized products away with me... I'd rather leave them behind in the hotel room for the maid than have to panic about not having enough shampoo/conditioner/soap/toothpaste.
Even if the shampoo is a bit harsh and the soap smells a bit plain.... its only for a short time your using them... thats my view on it anyway0 -
Sainbury's Basics conditioner is the prefered brand in this house and my teenager daughter is FUSSY! I think it is about 30/35p for 500ml.

Well I will try the shampoo and conditioner and if I dont like them I will just use the empty bottles for my ariel and lenor. But I would rather take too much and leave some behind than not have enough too.0

i always take far too many tampons/towels than necessary because nothing is more embarassing than having to go into a foreign chemist and ask for them then try to explain what flow absorbancy you want... you end up doing very strange hand movements and get very red in the face*. LOL
*speaking from embarssing experience0 -
I always take my normal products with me. At home when i am down to half a bottle of shampoo or half a tube of toothpaste i put them to one side (for holidays).
Then when i am ready to go i simply pack these which last the full two weeks and throw the empties in the bin when i am there, and fill my case with duty free's0 -
I'm a terrible 'decanter' anyway. I always seem to have a smaller bottle of a product - a freebie or a smaller one I bought to try it out. I then buy the largest size and decant - shampoo, conditioner etc. I always buy my loo bleach in 2L bottles and decant into the 750ml bottles by each loo. If you look in my various cupboards and drawers, it looks like Boots or the supermarket anyway
(lots of these are courtesy of the 3 for £1 mag subscriptions or the Boots pricing/points mistakes anyway)

I'll fess up and admit to being a serial decanter as well. If TM's done it I know I am in good company! I always buy shampoo, shower gel and the like in the largest most economical bottles but they are too large for the kidz to handle and they end up tipping out loads. Even for adults the temptation with super size bottles is to glug it out. You always use less with a smaller bottle. My bathroom is awash (scuse the pun) with seemingly expensive designer potions. Closer inspection will confirm value products in millionaires clothing;) I also hunt out and save what I call "mean bottles" ie those with small holes that only let the tiniest drop out if you jiggle it about for 20mins:D They're my favLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

Well I used the Superdrug shampoo and conditioner and it is really nice. Although the shampoo is a blue medicated colour it actually smells fruity. My hair is bleached and also coloured blonde so I have always used products especially for coloured hair. But this shampoo is lovely. My hair is nice and soft and the colour looks fine. I may decant it into a more expensive looking bottle to fool my two daughters and see if they like it!:D0

I must admit that I use a holiday as an opportunity to try out small sizes of "pampering products" that I wouldn't normally buy - and of course there's the freebies you get in mags/the post etc. I've still got posh shampoo left from when we went to Egpt two years ago (in a dark cupboard for the next posh hotel we get on cut price offer!!!! well, there are certain was to behave on holiday so we keep the engligh stereotype etc - tea at 4pm sharp!!!
)
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0
