Stork. Every time. Though honest - butter is better.

Try saying that six times after a glass or two! :)

I put 'Utterly Butterly Scandinavian Style' into Mash as it resembles Lurpak in taste. Great way to save on butter for creamy, tasty mash. However, I wouldn't dream of using anything other than Lurpak on either rolls, bread or toast etc. as I don't think any margarine or spread can compete with the taste of real butter.

I only ever put milk and ground pepper in mash cos we've been on a diet since 1978;) Normally I can stomach any old marg infact the cheaper the better (reminds me of being a kid again) One I tried and relly didn't like was Tesco baking margarine which comes in a block like butter, For baking I found it became really greasy and tasted a bit rancid and I don't mean Esther Rancid;)

Edit: Thought I had better add that we always call Esther Rantzen - Esther Rancid at chez MATH for those who thought I had really lost in this time.

Sorry Esther if you're reading:o but THAT'S LIFE

My Nan puts a bit of margarine - she used to use vitalite but it doesn't matter really and a bit of the salted potato water to make the mash. Very nice it is too.

I useTesco Value marg for everything except spreading on toast, sarnies etc, for which Hubby insists we use a decent sunflower spread:rolleyes: Guess I'm just easily pleased:p

PS : When I say everything I don't actually mean EVERYTHING:eek:, just margarine related things obviously:o But I am easily pleased though!

Asda Farm Stores spread, a pinch of pepper and a handful of dried Mint - it's amazing the difference the mint makes.

Dried mint thrown into a tin of garden/processed peas is good too :j
