Hello.

I got a text from 02 today telling me that they have changed the terms and conditions and if i want to see what they have changed to go to the website. Well I went to the website and couldn't find anything on the front page, so does anybody know what they have changed? It might be nothing important, but im not just going to take their word for it.

Does anybody know?

Thank you

    thank you

yes, it would help if they told us what (if anything) has changed. Maybe i'm being overly paranoid, but for all i know it's something bad they want to make difficult for us to know.

If it is something that will cause you to pay more money or effect you in a major way, i think in most contracts they say in the contract that they must give you 30 days notice before they change anything.

No harm in ringing customer service and asking them, just say you can't find anything on the website to say what has changed.

Here is an email I had off them concerning just the changes to the their t&c:-
The biggest change to the terms and conditions is a new clause at the beginning, informing customers that changes to terms and conditions will now be posted online. The full amendments are listed below:

    New (Initial clause)
By Using the Service you will be deemed to have accepted these terms & conditions. Please note these terms & conditions are updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website at https://www.o2.co.uk/terms. Please check these regularly as continuing to use the Service after changes have been posted on our website will mean that you agree to these terms as amended.

    New (clause in 1.1)
“Using the Service” means when your Account is first activated or when the Mobile Phone or SIM card is received by you.

    New (clause 1.3)
All O2 services, offers and promotions are subject to additional terms and conditions advertised in our marketing literature and on our website https://www.o2.co.uk. Please check our site regularly as these terms are updated from time to time.

    Amendment (clause 4.1)
“alter the number of your Mobile Phone, or any other name, code or number associated with the Service for reasons beyond our control, such as where requested to do so by a governmental authority or regulatory body or where we reasonably believe that the alteration will enhance your use of the Service. If this is the case we will give you reasonable notice”.

    Amendment (clause 5.3)
Clause has been put in bold and highlighted the insurance provisions, under which a customer could obtain a refund of any existing call credits subject to the terms of their policy.

    Amendment (clause 6)
Replace the current wording: “We may assign our rights and obligations under the terms and conditions to any third party”
to the following: “ We shall be entitled to assign or transfer our rights under this Agreement or any part of it on the same terms to any third party”.

    Amendment (clause 7.4)
Change this term to the following wording: “If your Mobile Phone is disconnected and you wish your Mobile Phone to be reconnected to the Network, you must call our Member Service number. If we agree to reconnect you, you must pay a reconnection fee unless the disconnection was due to our negligence. Details of the current charge is available on request”.

    New (clause 11.2)
“We reserve the right to change our terms and conditions of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any changes to these terms by posting them on our website at https://www.o2.co.uk/terms. In addition to this we may also notify you by messages on our IVR top-up system, messages via the Service (such as voicemail, text or media message) or by means of national advertising campaigns”

I personally couldn't see anything detrimental to us so I'm not worried. I think these changes were requested by OfCOM!
