There's a website you may like if you live in london www.Park-up.com allows you five free searches per day to use its interactive maps to show you where parking is available in London. Most usefully, it includes comprehensive prices per hour in any given area (inc. parking meter prices), as well as the maximum amount of time you'll be able to stay.

Thanks Martin for pointing out this site. I have to take the car into Central London regularly and always find it a complete pain to find somewhere to park. This site not only lists all the places to park in a specified area, but also gives you prices and max stay times, so you can plan ahead. I have registered for mobile phone usage which costs a few pounds, but will save me a lot of hassle and tickests in the long run. Brilliant site!!!!
