Cheapest non-promotional contract? (read on if you think I'm mad!)

Hi I have an Orange phone via Onestopphoneshop's 12 month cashback on a 12 month contract deal and its currently on OVP Anytime 200 (equivalent to Vodafone Anytime 200) however I don't actually use the contract (I just got it to sell the free phone
) and have asked onestopphoneshop what would happen if I changed the tariff (i'll post the e-mail in asec), basically they've said fine go ahead it won't affect cashback at all, so I'm looking for the cheapest contract there is (that I can apply for via Orange Value Promise, which excludes "promotional" tariffs). The cheapest I've found is One.Plan 20 from Onetel for £4.99 a month, I doubt anyone will beat this but I thought I'd ask!!
EDIT: Just read they'll only honour contracts "available to individual Pay Monthly customers, from O2, Vodafone & T Mobile retail stores only." so that's Onetel and the next cheapest, BT Mobile, out the window
, cheapest now is Vodafone Business £14 (as shown on the OVP page on Orange's site)

Dear Thewyzewun
Thank you for your recent email. We can confirm that after 6 months on
the Orange network you may change your tariff and it will not affect
your cashback redemption. If you wish to change your tariff, you will
need to contact Orange on 0800 80 10 10 or dial 150 direct from your
handset.
Kind Regards
Customer Support

I have a contract (Orange OVP something or other..., if it matters just
ask) with you for which I get (12 cashback on 12 month contract).
I have read on several forums that I will still be eligible for cashback
if I change my contract (e.g. select a lower tariff). Could you please
give me a simple yes or no to this.
As in, if I were to change my tariff to ANY other (higher or lower
priced) would this result in cashback not being paid, or the value of
cashback being reduced?
Please please
make sure you're right before you answer!!
Thanks muchos!

You might've guessed I changed my name to Thewyzewun (the e-mail wasn't sent to my MSE login hehe0 -
wow if this is true then the new k750i from OSPS =
8 months free + 4 * 30 = 120 --> 8 months free + 4 * 15 (30 mins xnet) = £60
is this true?
thanks0 -
even better:
£60 - 10 (online) - 15 (friend) - 15 (quidco) = £20
am i going loopy or what? but the new k750i for the nice tidy sum of £20. has the world gone mad?
i smell an *b*y auction coming up lol
thanks,0 -
I already auctioned my Siemens something or other for £70 at the start of the contract

dude k750i going for +£300
now thats a whole chunk of change

i hope this is damn true becuase i just want the phone for myself and use a diff sim card. dont care about mins etc
thanks,0 -
Me too, it'll make me £90 on this contract and I'm looking at getting another now (wonder if this is just Orange and whether other shops'll do the same...)0

Just had a look at the deal you're talking about, I was speaking about Orange and so was the reply - its doubtful the offer you're looking at qualifies.0
-
I went to the payment page and it had this to say
:D
"Onestopphoneshop are able to offer you this outstanding package based on your choice of handset and tariff, providing you with discounts of up to £250 off the high street. The offer made is subject to you remaining on your chosen tariff for a minimum period of 6 months on Orange, O2, vodafone and three and 11 months on T-mobile."
So that confirms it then, you can get it for £5 according to my math:
Outlay:
Crossnet 200 (£30) x 6
downgrade to: Anytime 25 £15 x 6
= £270
Money back:
£30 x 6 (cashback)
£15 (quidco)
£10 (buy online)
= £205
Total: £65
And yea the phones worth £300 (conservative estimate, they seem to go for upto £350) on eBay so I'll be selling it... maybe I'll get a few...0 -
whoooaaaaa
i'll be ordering two then.....one for me and one for anyone willing to bid on eb*y
what suitable price? £249 - £275?
8 months free = £120 for the year
downgrade month 9/10/11/12 = 60 saving
use quidco / online buy / friend = £40 off
360 - 240 cashback = £120
£120 - £60 - £40 = £20 ?0
