Does anyone have a good cheap recipe for these that doesn't involve Dolcelette cheese or other expensive ingredients that I haven't got?
Please, I got some scrummy good potatoes reduced yesterday and I just fancy doing something different with them?

Bung in the oven and cook,
Cut in half and scoop out most of the potato, mash up with some butter, cream cheese (could probably use any old cheese) and some chives.
Shovel back into the potato and bung into the oven for a bit till the cheese is all melted and yummy.
You could also add bacon bits or fry/grill a slice or 2 of bacon and chop up really smallWhen life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
I do this, save the scooped out flesh & serve as mash tomorrow night.
I fill skins with any combo of :
Cheese (any on hand), almost always as a topping & cometimes mixed with :
tuna
Bacon
Sliced cooked sausages
sweetcorn/pureed sweetcorn
sliced peppers
roasted veggies
chicken
curry sauce/leftover
chilli/leftover spag bol meat
garlic mushrooms
delicious served with a side salad & home made coleslaw;)

As above: cook, scoop out most of flesh, but then I put the "shells" back into the oven on their own for 20 mins or so to crisp up. Then add cheese & bacon bits (if I've got any).0

I always use a mix of Chedder and Gruyere, and tasty smoked bacon.0

While I'm on such a roll with the cous cous recipes and sausage casserole recipes being given to me, does anyone know how to make those lovely bacon and cheese loaded potato skins? Or any other flavour - i had a go but they weren't the same - does anyone know the secret:D0

Ive not tried the ones in pizza hut, but this is how i make our loaded jackets!!!!
I cut largish potatos into halves, then par boil in boiling water for about 5 mins, so they are starting to soften, but not too much. I brush the bottoms (the skins) with oil, and lay onto a baking tray. Pop them in the oven (about 200C for about 10 mins) meanwhile, i grate cheese, chop up some bacon and sometimes some onion, mix together then sprinkle on top of the potatos. I do 'fork up' the potato before sprinkling on so that it mixes nicely with the topping. I just leave them in the oven until the cheese is nicely browned, tastes lovely!!!!0 -
that's made me hungry....
It's about time to stir my home made spag bol (yummy). Better taste it to see if it needs any more seasoning .... :rotfl:Highest debt - £24500

I think the house of Honey will be having them too - along with chocolate cous cous for dessert!
Thanks for these!0 -
We do it differently here.
We bake the potatos in the oven as normal, when cooked, slice in half and scoop out the potato, mash with butter, cheese and what ever else you want, then pack back into the skins, top with more cheese and bung back in the oven or under the grill."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W.
