Just had my IPA form

  • A breakdown is not normally sent out with the IPA letter. It is every bankrupt's duty to notify the OR of any increase ion income. If you have already done this you are OK, just sign the consent and send it back.
I suggest when communicating with OR do it by letter and keep a copy. Phone call records dont protct you as much.
  • yes thats right, only up until discharge do you have to notify of changes in income.

As far as I am aware, Scoot, you ONLY need to inform the OR of any changes DURING your bankruptcy period - NOT after.
  • I work in bankruptcy too but agree with ROG2, it would be unfaior to bankrupts with IPA's if only they had to account for increases after discharge. After discharge the IPA stays the same.
    Yes it is correct!

An IPA form is usually sent out on a regular basis throughout the 36 months.

Also, there is a 21 day ruling on changes to income.

I cannot be held responsible for Scoot having a sloppy OR!

I forgot, I am not supposed to know anything because I am not bankrupt myself, I just work with bankrupts every day!

I was going to post the link to the relevant page but I am not going to bother. If Scoot wants to know he will have to pm me.

It seems to me that each OR works in a different way which is really weird as you would think they would all work the same way to give the same chance to everyone

I'd agree with that. It does seem that standards are not uniform...

The problem is that they work to a guideline manual which leaves virtually every decision open to individual interpretation...and even that can differ within the same office ( trust me I know all about this  )

I know that. One person in the OR office told me they would want ALL my backpay and the guy earlier this week said only a percentage would be taken

Try and get a definitive answer in writing if you can. Only we had a bit of cash from a compensation and lost a lot more than the initial figure we were given ( and which was confirmed twice:mad: ) after the Assistant OR overruled the initial decision.

We will be making a complaint in due course . :D
