...........put them in the shed or garage and hang your onions, shallots etc in them.
Or flower bulbs that you've dug up to store.
Or cut them up and use them as plant ties.
Or ask your local school, cub group etc if they would like any so they can use them to make 'cress-heads'.
Or pack loads together inside one leg and use it a mild abrasive cleaner for your sink, shower, basin whatever!

Use for stuffing inside home made soft toys, or to plump out "squashed" pillows & cushions.

Use to tie garden plants to canes.

Use as soap holder attached to garden tap.

Use to wrap round ordinary coat hangers to make into padded ones for posh clothes etc.

Oh, and my Mum swears they cure a sore throat if used as a scarf.....personally I find I feel like I am being strangled & no improvment to sore throat but everyone to their own:rolleyes:

Put a handful of oats in the toe of some old tights and tie a knot. Throw in a running bath, the oats dissolve slightly in the water, making a mild skin softening bath for dry skin. Buff your skin gently with the oaty tights then rinse off.

A friend of mine who was really poor (like you wouldn't believe) used to wear two holey tights at the same time, hopefully the holes didn't line up and show. Ta daaaa, opaque tights. Can't say I fancy it myself!

If you have long hair, make snag free hair bobbles by cutting across the legs about 2 inches thick. Especially good for really thick curly hair.

If only one leg is laddered (and you have 2 pairs the same like this) cut the laddered leg off each pair & wear together.

You get the leg of a pair of tights, pour cress seeds in the toe, put in a layer of kitchen paper, stuff with more tights until you have a grapefruit sized ball then tie a knot. Dampen, turn it upside down and watch the cress sprout from the top.
Stick it in a mug or something and you can draw faces on with magic markers. :D

Probably anything that sprouts quickly. I've done these with children - and always used cress because it's so easy and also something most of them are familiar with.

Actually, I've just remembered my daughter's did this at Brownies with grass. They then had a competition to see whose 'hair' grew most in the summer hols. Our local flower shop sold more lawn fertiliser those weeks than I think it had ever done :D

Old tights plaited together and covered in holly, ivy or any other evergreen plants from your garden plus a few baubles make good looking swags for Christmas!

I use old tights for these. Great for using on holiday, as it doesn't matter if you loose them.
