Which other oils would you recommend? I have a passion for lavender
(but aside from laundry, don't use for "cleaning") but rarely use any others; I bought a gift pack of oils reduced in the sales which had amongst it, patchouli and geranium - can those be used for cleaning? TIA

Eucalyptus is also good as a disinfectant and adding 1/2 tsp to your washing machine kills dust mites in bedding, and makes the house and washing smell lovely

orange oil and lemon oil are fab for wooden furniture. Mix a few drops with some olive oil, apply sparingly to furniture, and polish off with a clean cloth for a great shine.0

stir a little pine oil into a tub of baking sodaand sprinkle on carpets before hoovering, great if you've got pets

I use these as it's great to use homemade cleaning supplies but just basic vinegar etc and I missed the nice smells0

You have to make sure you buy the proper essential oils if you want to use their intended properties, i.e. anti-septics etc, as the cheaper perfumed oils that are around are not the same, and they also might damage fabrics and furnishings."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Good point Curry Queen.
I use a home made polish of equal parts lemon juice and olive oil in a glass jar with a well fitting stopper and it is great."This site is addictive!"

Lakeland do a cleaner/disinfectant which is concentrated tea tree and eucalyptus. You get a spray bottle and a large bottle of the concentrate for about £4.50, it makes about 10 bottles and is excellent.0

I agree about the Lakeland stuff - its got a lovely clean smell, cleans well and is dead cheap (my last lot cost £5.50 and its supposed to make 11 bottles) so works out at 50p a bottle.Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0

Any more recommendations for Lakeland products?
I've got a few things on my list now to order from them but would rather do it in one go as I think they do free P&P over a certain amount."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
