Options
Are there any uses for old socks? These are past darning now. Just seems wrong to bin them!

TIA

Will havea thing for something else.
    It's great in here! :)
  • Dusters is a good idea, but they make good 'speciality dusters' for wearing on your hands to cleaning ornaments, venetian blinds or bathroon radiators that are in horizontal bars. Also used to stop wine bottles clanking against each other in the boot of the car perhaps?

Someone i knew used to cut off the tops of old cotton socks and use the band to tie up her hair. As she used a scrunchie over the top - no one ever knew.

Saw this idea on tv once... if you roughly sew them up, you can stuff them with pot pourri and then tie the end of it and put them inside shoes to stop them smelling.

I've got a suggestion for you:

If you use step ladders in the house and lean them up against a wall when they're not in use/they're being stored...........put an old sock over the tops to protect your wall/wallpaper from being marked.

    To relieve pain:-
3/4 fill an old but clean terry sock with uncooked rice. Tie a knot in the top. Heat up in micro for about 2 mins - Use to take away any aches or pains, this helped when I had a trapped nerve in my shoulder. My daughter found this to be the only thing that worked when she had mumps, also for toothache (she now has an impacted wisdom tooth that needs sorting) :(

You can use them as shoe covers when packing a suitcase, just put them over the shoes.
