Looking for any stain removal advice as 2 year old has just decorated her new top with black marker pen.
Somehow I think said item will be going in the bin, but is there anything I can do to salvage it?
Thanks for looking and any suggestions anyone can offer.

try lidl's stain removal spray. I swear by this as it has removed most stains from my 20 month old's clothing including bolognese and wine. (not that she drinks but she did grab my glass once)
find it also a handy spot cleaner for my carpet too although I would advise testing.
It is also the most economical one that I have found and really effecive.
If you have a small monster in the house try the flash erasers for artistic marks on the paintwork and so on. work a treat and have stopped me from locking small monster in a cupboard until she's 18!0 -
Thanks for that. I've tried a variety of stain removers that were in the cupboard and its currently in for a hot wash with 2 scoops of vanish oxi action! I'm not holding out much hope. Still, it will make a very pretty duster!
My little monster also has the marker pen all over her hands which has pretty much come off with baby wipes and elbow grease, but it is also on her tummy and it won't come off at all. Tummy skin is different from hand skin! Looks like a celtic tattoo. She keeps telling me she's got a tattoo like daddy
We have a Lidl not too far away from us, so will invest in that one. Also the flash eraser sounds like a good investment too. I try to hide all the pens, but she always manages to find the one that I forgot about.0 -
LOL - whilst your monster was decorating herself, my 2 yo was decorating himself, paintwork and assorted metal picture frames with dark blue marker-pen. He tells me he is a 'rabbit' - cue blue marker on nose, lips and along both cheeks! Short of rubbing him with Ajax, I'm having problems getting him clean! One loooong bath coming up.
Isn't it funny, they drive you mad with their noise, but when they go quiet - it spells Trouble:)
(Oooh - just found all the new smilies)0 -

Absolutely. I always know that when there is absolute silence, it always needs further investigation
LOL, don't you just love the little darlings.0 -
try neat baby bath on a damp (not wet) flannel. If that fails rub damp flannel over a bar of soap and apply, but rinse well afterwards. never fails on my monster but then she's a complete muck magnet, whilst i was typing last post she just applyed coal dust to face and hands
Still dh has just removd her from the premises and by the time she's home again is shall just think that she's a little :A
I have found 101 uses for flash erasers from cleaning the oven to removing yellowing on the double glazing frames, limescale from the taps etc. marvelous things can't think how i lived through my last two monsters without them.0 -
Will the flash erasers work for permanent marker on a upvc door? Little monster here too.0

this works on pen ink and often felt tip pens so it might work on permanent marker
dampen the stained area (cold water only), spray generously with hairspray and scrub, rinse frequently, spray with more hairspray if necessary and then mix in some washing up liquid. it may well take it out for you
best of luck!founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
Oxi clean worked on flourescent marker pen ink that my OH managed to get on my BEST blouse by doing a wash leaving the pen in his work pocket - I thought that as it had been washed in as it were, I would have no chance - but soaked it in a hot strong solution for 30 minutes - and all gone! (I was even more impressed, as the blouse had a pattern dyed into it, that it didn't soak out)"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Try scrubbing skin with a nailbrush with soap on. It's also a deterrent not to draw on yourself againHere I go again on my own....0

Probably too late now but soaking in milk usually does the trick0
