Hi
I've just tried out the nerdoftheherd Radio Downloader on a Windows computer.
And I'm very impressed. It's easy to use.
So from now on, when this question gets asked again, I'll recommend Radio Downloader for Windows users.
And get_iplayer for Linux command line jocks.

Radio Downloader is donateware, no-one is supposed to make a profit from the BBC. This simple program allows me to get what I pay the BBC a license for (I watch a tiny amount of BBC TV but use radio a lot) - the ability to make any radio content portable, after all radio is the medium for using while doing something else whether that be the housework or taking a journey.0

It's not donateware, the link is just to support his hosting of all his projects. Radio Downloader is free (conforming to the beeb standards for developers using their data) and the author even gives away the source code
I use it all the time mainly so I can listen to programmes I've missed in the car and also I don't need to worry about missing a programme as it'll automatic keep an eye out.0 -
Corrected - no nags for a donation in the software, just a suggestion on the site to donate to keep the project going, so I did make a small donation.0
